My son came with a painful knee. I suggested an MRI due to the fact my son has diabetes and never complains when he does I know he has pain. He did order one due only to my demanding. Then two weeks later his nurse called said he had a hairline fx and should be not walking on the knee even tho I had suggested crutches. I know it does not take that long to get results he totally dropped the ball my son ended up having surgery by another surgeon. I would never go back the doctor is arrogant and an ass.
I have not experienced longer than expected waits in my 4 visits and 2 procedures. Very cordial and has taken plenty of time to make sure that I understood my injury and what was done to repair it. My biggest complaint would be around the staff in both the front office and in the exam room areas. I have found most of them to be terse, bossy and lacking in customer service skills.
The absolute best! I was always seen in a timely manner. I required a surgical procedure which went well. I'm progressing with out difficulty which I attribute to the awesome care of my surgeon. I have to say I'm also an Operating Room nurse and he has never treated me without the utmost professionallism and kindness.
Dr. Looby may be smart,but doesn't show compassion for the common folk. Offered no referal when turned out to not be a shoulder issue. Doctors are human and their time is valuable, but so am I and so is my time. I had to fight for the time from work to go see him and I had a 5 minutes of his time for a 3 hour wait.
The wait time to see him is at least an hour or more- He truly doesn't care if you wait, guess your time isn't as valuable as his!!!!
I would like to challenge some of the negative things that have been said. I feel it unfortunate that physicians are expected to perform at such high standards that they aren't allowed to be "human"..ie run behind, have stressful days, feel overwhelmed, etc. My husband had both of his shoulders repaired by Dr. Looby, and we have nothing but positive things to say. I am a runner. I know all the orthopods in town. Tore my acl. Went to Dr. Looby. Perfect results.
Very nice doctor. Treats patient's and staff with respect. Dr. Looby performed several knee surgeries on me and has treated other members of my family. Would highly recommend him.
For the amount of time that I spent waiting in the waiting room, (just about 2 hrs!!) you would think that Dr. Looby would have spent more than 5 minutes with my son in the office. Then on top of that, while we were with the Dr. he seemed to be mentally somewhere else! Not very good bedside manner if you ask me! Not even a "sorry" for having to wait as long as we did. Totally uncalled for and rude. Just because our bank accounts aren't as big as his, doesn't mean that our time is less valuable than his!
