Dr. Stanton is a busy surgeon who is an expert at his craft. He is mission driven to help as many patients as possible using his skill and expertise. He takes the time needed to evaluate the individual patient and makes a recommendation, which he explains so that the patient can make an informed decision. He does not dally. Being a beneficiary of Dr. Stanton’s skill, I am so grateful for being pain free after years of pain, more and more limiting the activities I had always loved and “having my life back”. I am glad that he ... read more

I write this as a retired doctor who spent decades in medicine. Initial consult with Dr. Stanton: late, brusque, dismissive of the referring physician’s and pain management specialists’ notes, never mind my pain history and observations (a key aspect in any visit note). Also refused discussing my thoracic spine issues because the referral only noted my lumbar diagnoses (my referring physician’s fault). What I find particularly troubling was the dismissiveness of the patient history, other providers’ notes, and the x-rays his... read more

After Dr. Stanton performed extensive surgery on my lumbar spine, my strength and stability have returned. He and his team were very friendly and professional. Thank you very much and God bless!!

I gave osteopenia, it is contra indicated for me to have corticosteroid injections. I alerted him to this although it was in my hx and physical. He manner was abrupt and dismissive. He basically said he was a surgeon, and even thou i had extensive arthritis throughout my spine i needed to focus on only 1 area i wanted to address. Although when i asked he refused to address my lumbar vs my cervical pain. He said i needed facet injections. I have researched on my own, since the visit, and these are corticosteriod injections. W... read more

I went for a visit with my mom and I’ve been to doctors my whole life and when my mom said she has pain in multiple areas, he sneered that mom couldn’t have pain in more than 1 area. He said “focus on 1 area at a time” but wouldn't listen to where her pain was worse. My mom is an RN snd advised him she was osteopenic and therefore was not a candidate for corticosteroid injections. He stated he was a surgeon and did surgery. She said surgery is always a last option. She said she wanted a consult, and wanted to know how her ba... read more

I was paralyzed after the surgery for 2 months. He was quite cold about it. The surgery center was terrible. I understand the risk, but he said 'that usually returns' then abruptly left. When I was discharged they gave no notice and just wheeled me out of the building. I had to wait for a cab as I wasn't given any notice of when I would be discharged. I had asked about that more than once. I was told not to worry we won't discharge you until the surgeon sees you. However this never happened!

I was referred to Dr Stanton by another physician and received excellent and thorough care. He presented my options well and I chose surgery, with which I have been satisfied with. I feel like I received outstanding care and would recommend him.

I was new to town and recovering from an ALIF L5-S1 fusion. The procedure was conducted while I was in the Army. My surgeon recommended I have an X-ray to confirm proper placement of the instrumentation. After waiting an hour in the waiting room, past my scheduled appointment, Dr. Stanton couldn’t get rid of me quick enough. He seemed annoyed with my questions and could not care less about my post surgical situation. I will gladly never be back.

I have seen Dr Stanton for a number of years. He performed my cervical spine surgery and I was so impressed by his surgical skill and care . I am now under his care for spinal deterioration issues and I would not consider seeing anyone else for this condition. His expertise is unmatched! I feel that he is my friend and doctor at this point and trust his professional decisions. You will never have to worry about an unnecessary surgery as he is a minimalist and only performs surgery when necessary. He will be there for you as ... read more
