Dr. Walker came highly recommended by our primary care doctor (who also warned us he would be hard to get as he was in high demand). When I broke my shoulder on a trip to Iceland, calls back home led to seeking an appointment with Dr. Walker upon our return in a few days. We got an appointment, confirmed the broken shoulder, and had surgery a few days later. With much physical therapy and ongoing exercises, my recovery has been phenomenal! I would highly recommend seeking medical assistance from Dr. Walker and his team!
When I’ve been in the office, he is usually on time. He’s friendly and explains things so I can understand. He did my reverse shoulder replacement in March and I finished PT in 5 months. That is a sign of a good surgeon when the patient regains movement of the shoulder and I feel I am at 90% which is amazing.
I went to see Dr Walker to get a consult about my shoulders. He reviewed my MRIS x-rays and reports and went over them with me. He was very detailed in the way he explained my condition and both shoulders need reverse total replacement. He answered every question and concern I had and it turns out he does more of these every year than any other ortho in the area. I felt so confident and assured after meeting with him that I scheduled my surgery with him without any doubts. It's rare to have such a qualified surgeon with such... read more
Had a "frozen" shoulder issue. Dr. Walker and his P.A. were very attentive. Diagnosed my problem on the spot at my first visit. Dr. Walker provided information including what to do next at a later date, if need be. Very good experience!
I did my homework and checked Dr. Walker’s credentials. Everything I read confirmed that he was the best in the area to do my shoulder surgery. After speaking with him I realized he was a former athlete as well as a gifted surgeon and that sold me. I’m 3 1/2 months out of surgery and a very pleased with the results. I expect a complete recovery and to be back in the gym in just a couple of weeks. I expect to be training at my pre-injury level or greater, in about six months. I will continue to follow his instructions through... read more
Dr. Walker was very personable and took time to get to know me. He quickly diagnosed my problem and laid out a plan of action that I was comfortable with. I would highly recommend him.
I’ve known Dr. Walker for years. He is very knowledgeable, always tries to encourage, to think positive, very patient, answers all questions, really cares about his patients.
Explains well On time Great bedside manner Staff and team very helpful
I fell in Iceland while on a cruise last fall.. I broke my shoulder. When our concierge doctor was called, he strongly recommended OrthoVirginia and said try to get Dr. Walker if we could - not optimistic however. But indeed he saw me when we returned and did the surgery a few days later (cadaver bone, plate, and about one dozed screws). I’ve been back for several visits, had extensive physical therapy, and continue exercises at home. Having just seen Dr. Walker yesterday, he confirmed what I believed: I’m well on my way to ... read more
