I think he's awesome and I would highly recommend him to any athlete. He's a real straight-shooter and he's extremely knowledgeable about the care and treatment of athletic injuries. He's familiar with lesser-known issues like compartment syndrome so he's able to consider all angles and I trust that he won't miss anything. He's also very good at calming you down and providing reassurance when you're freaking out about an injury (as I tend to do), basically helping you "get out of your head" when it comes to that stuff. Both... read more

After waiting 45 minutes, he rushed in, didn't listen to what I had to say, and kept trying to rush me out, saying "is that all?" If the case isn't surgical, he just doesn't care. Cold bedside manner, doesn't seem to like people. I got a second opinion from another practice and it was infinitely more helpful.

Do not see Dr. Mark Peterson!! I cut a tendon in my foot and he told me that there was an easy surgical fix. Dr. Peterson completely botched the surgery and was clearly in over his head. Afterwards, he told me that my care was being transferred to the practice's foot specialist (Dr. Witte). I was shocked--why did he ever operate on my foot if he didn't have the necessary skills or expertise?? Making matters worse, during my last post surgery visit with them, Dr. Peterson and Dr. Witte both failed to recognize a dangerous inf... read more

DR Peterson did a Makoplasty partial knee replacement on me 8 weeks ago. I am extremely happy with my results. I have most of my function back and little to no pain at this time. I look forward to him doing my other knee in a few weeks. He took time and answered my questions before surgery and after surgery. He took the time to call me a few days after surgery to see how I was doing. I highly recommend him to others considering knee replacement and other surgeries.

Absolutely the worst Dr. I have ever seen. I've worked as a healthcare professional for 30 years and I would not let him touch my dog!! Seriously he is not nice and he really messed my care up.badly and mainly because he would not take the time to listen.

I have been seeing Dr. Peterson for my arthritic knees for several years. I have found him to be very easy to schedule an appointment with--as in a few days--and to always proceed with me with caring and caution. He is not a surgeon who wants to jump into surgery--he wants to do it when you actually need it. He did a total knee replacement on me--and I will have him do another--when/if the time comes. I ask a LOT of questions--he is always patient and--more importantly--practical and realistic.

Dr. Peterson is better suited to pushing insurance paperwork than treating patients. The man was defensive, egotistical, lazy and indifferent to my mother's suffering. I don't think he bothered to spend more than a minute examining her in the course of two visits, neither of which yielded a diagnosis or a helpful treatment. Don't waste your time with this doctor. There's a reason his rating is so poor. His staff on the other hand is very good. He could learn a thing or two from his nurses.

I can not recommend this doctor. He gave me less than 5 minutes of his time, his bedside manner was horrible and he could certainly have cared less about me or my problem. I changed doctors - one that gave me a different diagnosis and actually talks to me. I don't know why Dr Peterson is a doctor because he doesn't really seem to like people.

Quick, efficient and a little bit of ego: just how I want my sports surgeon to be. Dr. Peterson always asked (usually twice) if I had any questions. When I did finally have one, he quickly recounted every likely ramification for me. His assistant during my knee surgery was very personable, and they both engaged in brief joking to comfort me as I shifted tables preparing to be put under anaesthesia. By the way, Shady Grove was overall much superior to Holy Cross.
