Dr. Davenport is a fantastic AME. He’s very personable and efficient - and given that his “other job” is Air Force F16 instructor pilot, he understands better than just about any other doc how important flying is to you. It’s easy to schedule an appointment through his website. I would not hesitate to recommend him to fellow pilots.
I have already spoken with other pilot friends and highly recommend Dr. Davenport. Extremely professional and efficient! I rarely give 5 stars for anything but he deserves it!

Davenport is excellent; prepared, knowledgeable and professional. Equipment and office first class. This was my second renewal examination for a Third Class but any pilot would be well served to work with Davenport, especially since those out of the Austin area can fly into KAUS for the appointment. I appreciated that he read my notes when I scheduled and called me to discuss the appropriate documents to bring. He is immediately available at the scheduled time. Highly recommended.
The best FAA medical experience in over 35 years of flying!
Did an FAA class I with Dr Davenport. I went to him under the recommendation of a friend from work. I had been seeing my other Dr for almost 20 years and was a little reluctant to change. After my appointment I have decided to see Dr Davenport as my new FAA AME. He was very friendly and outgoing, very personable and engaging. Thank you to him for the nice visit, and I’ll see him again in 6 months.
This was not the typical flight physical that I am accustomed to. Dr. Davenport was professional, courteous and friendly. He took time, after the examination, to explain the process of getting my medical reinstated. I highly recommend Dr. Davenport.
