Dr. Ortega is the most professional Dr. I have ever seen. I have a number of long term health problems that other Drs. didn't address or didn't diagnose. Dr. Ortega not only addressed the problem she researched the best dr. available to care for my problem. She is outstanding. Her staff is pleasant & my wait is short. However, office manager has difficulty w/ time sensitive papers. My first clue was necessary paper work that needed a signature. disappointed in Dr. Ortega's nurse practitioner during my recent visit - despite my telling her I didn't think the problem was my knee, because that was not where the pain was ? - But the nurse referred me for an x-ray of the knee, and to be seen by an orthopedic specialist(doesn't 'do' back treatments) - who checked the x-ray on the knee, then ordered more on my back & hip, as he saw no issues in the hospital's xray of the knee... and confirmed that my back has its problems, has been crooked as all get-out, probably for all... read more

The office staff is friendly and helpful. I get in quickly, without long waits. Dr Ortega listens carefully and really tries to solve any problems that I bring to her. She’s a great doctor!!

Dr Ortega is always pleasant and is never rushed during my visit. She always inquires if I "fully understand" what she says and if "I have any other health concerns or questions" before I leave. She is truly interested in my health and well being and I'm glad to have a Dr in Alamogordo like Dr Ortega.
Dr. Ortega is a compassionate, caring physician who listened carefully to my concerns and addressed them specifically. She thoroughly researched possible causes and treatments, and patiently waited until I was satisfied with my visit. I'm relieved to find such talent in a small community, and she will always be my primary care physician.
