Dr. Ortega is the best family doctor we’ve ever had. She is very thorough and a good listener. She directs to specialists as needed. She takes her time with each patient. Sometimes it is hard to get in on short notice.
This was my yearly wellness checkup. Some new information from prior tests and now to implement them on my time.Patient since 2017.

I’d made a list before my visit, because I tend to get a bit uptight and forget everything - Dr. Ortega took the time to deal with each question separately - she listened and responded - I just felt reassured, and I can trust her judgment because she addressed my questions - and her staff, too, was courteous, patient Every one working there was coordinated, informed, and efficient.
She’s pretty busy, but so sharp, & she can listen to me - respect on both sides, because Ineed to be able to understand what she recommends and she answers my concerns. I don’t always get to see her, personally, but I feel the entire staff is a team, concerned with a patient’s ultimate well-being. ( and no, I’m not working for her or a family member) just a grateful patient….
I really trust Dr Ortega’s professional judgment. She takes time to talk with her patients and answers questions thoroughly. The only thing I wonder about is that this time a few of my lab values were slightly out of the normal range and she did t mention them to me. I didn’t find out u til I got home and looked at the lab reports myself. She did mention cholesterol, but not the other things. I had my first tele visit this week. It was easier than I expected. The doctor's nurse got all vital info including temp, BP, weight, list of prescriptions, etc. I then waited for Dr Ortega. The visit went well and was easy to do with the computer. Dr. Ortega is extremely dedicated to her profession and to her patients. We are lucky to have her here in Alamogordo.
