I rarely rate doctors but this man takes the cake. I would never recommend taking your child to him! He recommends restraints for children to get dental work done. This is why we have people TERRIFIED of dentists. My daughter did get dental work done but while she was asleep, if you choose this route bedside manner doesn’t matter but awake never!
Business response:
Thank you for your thoughtful response. We do provide a number of options for managing dental anxiety. As you have pointed out, one of the options is moderate sedation which combines a relaxing medication and nitrous oxide. In order to manage this option in a safe manner, including the use of monitors to evaluate breathing, we discuss the use of a PediWrap, which is a medical device to restrain movement. We also point out this is controversial for some families and they may prefer other options such as general anaesthesia. F... read more
Horrible experience! My children were scared to go to the dentist after this man did treatment on them!! Since switching dentists I've had no issues with taking them to get work done and they don't get sedated
Business response:
I am glad your children have found a happy place for their dental care. Providing dental care on children while sedated can be a challenging process. This is discussed extensively with the family and alternatives are always mentioned. I wish your children only the best in their future dental health.
Compassion, professionalism, and ease of motion are just of the few phrases that can be used to describe Dr Yanover and his staff. As a specialist in pediatric dentistry, Dr Yanover treats the most vulnerable with non judgment and the highest level of concern. My 5 year old granddaughter was in need of his gentle services as it was discovered she was suffering from 12 cavities and 4 teeth removals due to excessive decay. To treat the excessive damage, she required sedation to complete the process. As a grandmother who has be... read more
My two year old daughter required two crowns due to insufficient enamel on two teeth. Dr Yanover reassured us it was nothing we had failed to do as the rest of her teeth were perfect. We did not wish to have her put under general anesthesia due to a heart condition. Dr Yanover and his staff did all they could to keep her safe, comfortable and as calm as possible during the procedure. Dr Yanover detailed all options for how to proceed when she became upset. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently the work was completed. H... read more
Business response:
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Our team works vry hard to provide an optimum experience for children under our care, based upon the wishes of the parents. As you mentioned, we were all concerned about the risks and benefits of each approach to patient management due to health history. The result, based upon your understanding of your child and the options you could choose from, was excellent. We look forward to seeing you in the future.
Dr. Yanover and the staff interacted very well with my daughter. Dr. Yannover provided clear, patient explanations before and after her dental surgery. The work done (four top front teeth covered, plus a molar) was professional and the dentist that referred us was impressed at the work at a subsequent follow up. Most importantly, my daughter loves her "shiny new teeth" and smiles bigger than ever now :)
Business response:
Thank you for your touching response. I am now using a revolutionary new product for the last 3.5 years called zirconia on the anterior teeth. It is durable and esthetic, almost impossible to tell from healthy teeth. Our patients and referring dentists are very happy with this new product. We are always striving to deliver the best care to our patients.
Dr. Yanover was very patient with us. Our Daughter was only 2.5 years old when we went to see him. She needed quite a bit of work done and we had a lot of questions and uncertainties. He was very helpful and honest. We were so happy that we got to work with him and will continue to.
Business response:
Thank you very much. Our team work very hard to provide care to the children we see that will lead to a life time of healthy smiles as well as happy children and parents. We look forward to seeing you in the future
I left the office feeling like the worst parent in the world after my daughter got two crowns in. This doctor is very rude and the staff made me feel horrible that I had to be there in the first place because I wasn't feeding her properly. This was year's ago and I still think about it. I have told my dentist to stop referring his patients to this man. Horrible.
Business response:
I am so sorry the treatment for your child many years ago left you traumatized. We try to provide a positive experience for our patients and their family. I am sorry we did not meet your expectations.
My son (who is 5) was referred to Yanover's office because of an accident at school where his front tooth was dislodged from a fall. The dental hygienist he seen at the beginning of the visit and xrays was AMAZING. She let my son pick out a movie and made sure he felt comfortable before looking inside his mouth. Dr Yanover then came in and said he had 4 cavities and suggested we pull his two front teeth out (the ones he fell on). I asked if they would come out on their own he said yes. So I opted not to sedate my son for an ... read more
Business response:
Thank you for providing feedback on your experience. I am very happy you have found satisfactory care elsewhere. As we discussed at your consultation, your child had two primary anterior teeth that had experienced recent trauma. The front right tooth (#51) was mobile and the front left tooth had a very short root from previous injury. I discussed that you could opt to leave both teeth as tooth 51 was mobile and would come out on it's own in the future and if tooth 61 experienced symptoms we could treat it at a later time. Yo... read more
