He took all my lower back pain away! He is the best surgeon ever! Highly recommend him. I had a ruptured disc (11 millimeter) and was fused to my sciatic nerve and was in pain for about 4 years. Finally, I went to Dr. White, had the surgery, and it has been 8 years now and let me tell you it was the BEST thing I ever did. He is a very good doctor.
I was referred to Dr. White by a friend who sells medical supplies to spine doctors in Orange Country who noted that Dr White is highly regarded in Orange County by other spine doctors. He did a microdiskectomy on my L4-L5 last week and it brought instant relief. I was comforted by the fact that all of the people in the hospital (not his regular hospital) all said the same thing about him, that he was the best. Detached, harsh intolerant, this doctor's surgical technique may be good, but he is abrupt, arrogant, immature, so I'd wonder about his judgement. He'd ask generalized questions, but then would demand narrowly focused answers. He showed minimal interest in my medical problems, but took the time to talk about side issues. I found him unpredictable. If I'm going under the knife, this is not the surgeon I'd want.
This physician saved my life! Do not believe the recommendations that he is arrogant. He is professional all the way. If you want someone to stroke your soul, see a counselor or your pastor. In 1998 he performed a fusion on my neck, C-6. Before that time I lived in chronic pain. I used to drive my two young kids to school holding my neck with one hand, and the steering wheel with another. My neck surgery on disc's 3 -4 was performed in December 1993 by Dr. Jon White. I had immediate relief. I must say I am surprised by the opinions that he is rude, arrogant and had long delays. I never experienced any of that with him or his office. Maybe success has gone to his head but he wasn't that way back then. I will be forever grateful for his expertise and talent. After all this time I am still doing great.
Dr. White came highly recommended by all the physical therapists. Highly skilled, extremely knowledgeable and a talented surgeon, Dr. White performed a C6-7 Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion with a Titanium Plate on me in 1999. Though I still have permanent nerve damage (due to insur. co. delay after delay), at least my neck is in great shape from a mechanical standpoint. One of the worst doctors I have ever been to, Almost left on the first visit after being made to wait 2 hours. Furthermore, he checked me out over the phone from the hospital the next day after the surgery, no further contact after that whatsoever. All this guy cares about is doing the surgery, the fact that their is a human being on the table is completely meaningless to this guy. If you are looking for no human contact with the doctor this is your guy. If you want anything else find another doctor
Dr. Jon White has a great bed side manner, he is also very personable and a great surgeon. I came in and was thinking I would have xrays and he is very honest and could have easily done them in office, but was honest and said I didn't need them. Great doc and didn't feel rushed at all!!
