Dr. Shellock is clearly an expert in her field, however, she is dismissive when it comes to simple cases and she seems to forget the human behind the worry. She has poor bedside manner and compared my concerns to other patients'. She said: "Oh no, compared to what I've seen, what you have isn't bad or unsightly." This didn't sit well with me. I've had consistent, high level back pain for about eight years. Dr. Shellock diagnosed my problem from my MRI. She performed spinal decompression surgery and a partial laminectomy on my lumbar spine. Pain relief was instant. I was also able to go home on the day of surgery with some discomfort but no pain. I highly recommend Dr. Shellock and her team for spine problems. I have and continue to receive top notch care.
I was referred to Dr. Shellock from Plano Orthopedic Sports Medicine for ruptured disc causing me so terrible pain due to compression of my sciatic nerve on my left side... Dr. Shellock recommended surgery, got it booked for the following week, and after surgery I could get up and go to the bathroom without pain...! After two weeks of crawling/using a walker to go to the bathroom that was quite an accomplishment... I highly recommend Dr. Shellock and the folks at TBI if you have any issues with your back...
I am so grateful for Dr. Shellock and the very caring and compassionate healthcare professionals at Texas Back Institute in Plano. Chronic pain lowered my self esteem and impacted every aspect of my life. I would highly recommend Dr. Shellock. My wife and I asked many questions going into this surgery because it was my second surgery to repair the same disc. She is very knowledgeable with all aspects of the procedure including current research and what findings are out about long-term expectations for disc replacement. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Jessica Shellock. I came to her after several months of working with my local ortho doctor in Arkansas. I was suffering with sever Sciatica pain down my left leg. My local doctor prescribed several pain shots but none of that helped. He recommended me to Dr. Jessica Shellock in Plano, TX. Dr. Shellock has been great to me since day one. She did a lami- dissectomy in July but, I had let things go on to long and now have to have a spinal fusion. My family and I wholeheartedly believe in Dr. Shellock and her team. We are excited about what our future holds once this is done.
Dr Shellock was wonderful to work with. She not only a great surgeon, she has a great patient manner. Dr Shellock was notified by my orthopedist of the results of my Lumbar MRI and CT. She made time to not only see me that day, but also tentatively put me on her surgery calendar for her next scheduled day. The surgery went well. The sciatica pain that was making it a challenge to walk was gone. If i could award more than 5 stars, I would do so with no hesitation.
Dr. Shellock and staff are AMAZING! I am almost 3 weeks post op from having cervical disc replacement surgery and I am doing GREAT! I feel better than I have in a long time. From day one of meeting her until post op appointment, she's always made me feel so at ease. I'm so grateful for her willing to listen to me and my needs as well as working diligently instead of tip toeing around like other doctors that I've seen. I'm so glad I went to TBI for a second opinion!
