Dr. Shellock is an amazing and caring doctor. I am 85 and had spinal decompression surgery allowing me to be able to walk again. I cant say enough great things about her and her team. Very blessed because she took such great care of me. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Shellock is amazing! I cannot say enough wonderful words about her. If you need an orthopedic surgeon look no further. You will be in great hands. I was unable to walk and needed a lumbar disc replacement. I am very grateful that she was the doctor that performed the surgery. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. I definitely recommend her.
In the years before finding out about Texas Back Institute and Dr. Jessica Shellock, I had two previous unsuccessful discectomy surgeries for a herniated disc at L5-S1. Afterwards, my local surgeon would only recommend spinal fusion surgery. I did not want spinal fusion surgery for fear it would limit my movement and flexibility, and that spinal fusion would put more pressure on adjacent discs and cause them to herniate. I am so grateful I found Dr. Shellock! After going through pain management, Injections, and Physical Therapy at Texas Back Institute for my back nothing helped and was then referred to Dr. Shellock. Before she did my surgery in 8/2019, she made sure she sent me to get an MRI, CT scan and a Discogram and was very honest in explaining the procedure and pain of a discogram, I decided to get it done and I'm glad I did because she was able to determine I needed a Multi-level spinal fusion. Dr Shellock diagnosed my back for surgery. My legs were falling a sleep walking back pain, all of it. She performed the sugery and dis an amazing job. Three laters I can keep up with my very active teenage kids for soccer, camping and trails. All because of a great doctor who’s not only talented but truly cares. If you need your back fix, stop waiting. Go see her. Thanks Dr Shellock!!!

Dr. Shellock was amazing! She is such a caring doctor and truly took the time to allow me to ask all the questions I had before my back surgery. Very unhappy with my visit to this doctor. I felt she didn't listen, didn't prepare for my visit (even though it was a referral for a second opinion), and was just all around arrogant. Her words and tone conveyed to me the idea that she was doing me a favor by seeing me and that my well being was not her concern.

Over a decade of back pain conditioned me to expect severe pain after certain movements. Dr. Shellock performed a total disc replacement on me and after 3 months, the only thing that reminds me that I had surgery was moving, then being surprised at having zero pain. She completely repaired my back!
She abandons her patients when seeking an opinion. She didn't even show up to Discogram that she scheduled. I wouldn't use her again.
