Dr Hefler took his time, answered all my questions easily and I did not feel rushed, and I felt like he was very thoughtful about my situation
I have seen Dr Heftler for years for various issues and he has always been successful at helping me. He is patient and spend the necessary time to explain to me what he is doing and what I should do after the injection. Can highly recommend.

The bottom line - after 2 epideurals with minimal benefit, Dr. Heftler had his assistant call me to tell me that surgery was necessary and that I should make an appointment with his colleague (who received poor patient reviews). Instead, I made an appointment with a surgeon at HSS and after some images were taken, I made an appointment for surgery. At the same time, I also made an appointment with another physiatrist at HSS. Dr. Heftler has been my doctor for 15 years. His prognosis has always been correct, even when I thought the opposite! He focuses on what you have to say and carefully listens to you. If you have bad back pain, this is the doc you want to see.

Dr. Heftler is brilliant, exceptionally skilled, and has a bedside manner that is absolutely perfect. He is empathetic and responsive-I was in crazy pain when I first met him for an ultrasound injection.
