There is not an orthopedic surgeon that I would trust more than Dr. Aguiar. He explains everything you need to know in terms the lay person can understand and takes the time you need. You definitely feel included in the decisions.
I hesitate to say anything about Dr. Aguiar so as not to compete for his utterly outstanding miracle services once the word is out. But for the benefit of humanity, I will. :-) In short: Dr Aguiar and the staff at OrthoVirginia have made it possible for me to do anything physical I want, from triathlons (several full Ironman) to skiing to horseback riding to climbing mountains. I have seen Dr. Aguiar for around 10 months for a shoulder impingement issue that became frozen shoulder at a later stage. Dr. Aguiar diagnosis was spot on from day one and it was confirmed by the x-rays and MRIs. He recommended surgery for frozen shoulder for me after the physical therapy didn't help. I was initially very hesitant, but Dr. Aguiar's explained everything very calmly and also gave me an option of trying more physical therapy if I was not sure.
