My mom is here after a stroke, she can not get out of bed to no use of the left side, paged a nurse when she needed to use the restroom (11:30) at 12:15 She showed up mad cause I asked of she was the nurse , by then she went all over herself, sad thing is they were more worried about lunch then helping.
Business response:
Hi Amandy, I'm so sorry to hear that your mom did not feel well-attended to and cared for by our nursing staff during her visit here. A stroke is serious and difficult, and I'm sure this was stressful for both her and for you as well. If you are interested in speaking to a patient advocate to help resolve your discomfort, I can connect you to someone who will personally follow up with you. If you are interested, please direct message us with your mother's name and a good e-mail address and phone number for follow-up. I apolo... read more
My son had a serious laceration and cuts from a glass breaking accident, it was an hour and a half before he was triaged and even more time before he was actually seen even though I told staff he was bleeding out. I was told there was 2 people ahead of him. I was livid! We were there almost 5 hours! The care the doctors and nurses and treatment staff gave him was great. Otherwise I would give 0 stars.
Business response:
Hi Tia, thank-you for taking time to leave us feedback. I am sorry to hear that you and your son had a negative experience while awaiting treatment for the cuts from his glass breaking accident. We want you to know that both his and your well-being are very important to us, and that every single patient's care is of equal importance as soon as they walk through our doors at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. If you would like to speak to a patient advocate about the quality of your son's care, I would be happy to connect yo... read more
I was there for a cardiac catheterization. With the exception of the admissions staff, my experience with everyone I came into contact with was very positive.

If you want to be treated like A NUMBER instead of a HUMAN, then this is the place to go. My family member ended up here as an emergency transfer and they have done nothing but sit and wait for a couple tests over the past 72 hours. Guess his condition didn't rise to the level of warranting timely care over the weekend. Communication from nursing staff and doctors has been terrible. Patient advocacy simply said to write a letter. Once we have fully documented this terrible experience we will surely be doing that.
Business response:
Hi Diana, I'm so sorry to hear about this frustrating experience. We want all of our patients to feel valued, respected and to know that their health is our utmost priority. I'd like to help expedite the process for helping you resolve everything you and your family experienced. Could you please send a direct message to our Facebook page including the name of the patient who was treated and a good phone number and email address? I will forward all of this directly to a team member in patient advocacy and have someone persona... read more
Dr Matthews best nephrologist. Some of the techs need to go back to basics introduce yourself before touching patients. IV team have the knowledge but the attitudes suck. Ida and Katia was my best nurses on 2E. The transport team and food service teams amazing people. Hot water is necessary to bathe!
Business response:
Hi Kecia, thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a 5 star review. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the care of your nephrologist and your 2E nurses! I'll send a note over to our clinical staff to reiterate that techs should have the same bedside manner that we expect for all our providers and everyone who is involved with patient care. Thank-you for your feedback and have a great day! Best wishes, Christine H. - MedStar Health Digital Team
I hated it. I was there for an eye exam. I arrived twenty minutes before the appointment. I would have gotten there sooner but you have to figure out where to go once you are inside. I didn't get to see a tech until 90 minutes after my scheduled appointment. After about 30 minutes with her she then dilated my eyes and I was asked to wait in the lobby again. I was finally seen about 75 minutes after waiting again bit only because I had complained. Then my doctor got called out of my appointment because of a rare condition exp... read more
