Staff unprofessional. Wait time in chair before anyone checks on you unacceptable. Staff asks repetitive questions like why are you there. Dentist has poor bedside manner. After explaining my teeth were sensitive to cold and asking him to use old fashioned way to clean my teeth, he ignored me. After I fussed again, he accused me of having a bad day and suggested I come back when it was more convenient. This was because he had another patient waiting and didn't have time to deal with me. Staff not very friendly or smile with greeting you. Dr Gargasz was just rude and rushed throught the exam. Floors were dirty and I seen bugs crawling on the floor while I was waiting in the dental chair for my cleaning. I refused X-rays because I plan to change to another Dentist and was billed for x-rays. So had to call my ins. co and then back to the dentist office to have the charges removed.
I have never discontinued using a doctor except for a move. My husband and I went to this dentist when we moved to Tampa. After our first consultation, which was advertised as free but they still demanded our insurance's co-pay, Dr. Gargasz was so unprofessional that we made appointments with a different dentist. He was more preoccupied talking with my husband about other things than to answer my questions after he told me I had an inordinate amount of fillings. I've always had good experiences with this particular dentist. I have had a lot of much needed work done and he has done a wonderful job with it.
This man was the most unprofessional, arrogant, condescending moron I have ever had the displeasure of seeing. He was totally unprofessional and was only interested in hearing the sound of his own voice. He refused to answer questions or address the issue which actually brought me to his office in the first place. He indicated when reviewing my x-rays that I had damage to teeth I did not even have and fillings that were damaged when I have no fillings. Dr Gargasz has a salesman's mentality-has his staff call every couple of months to pester you to begin your "treatment plan" which is essentially to replace every piece of dental work ever done in your mouth. Recently, I went in for my regular cleaning & in a moment of weakness, I consented to have him do "whatever was the most pressing" only to realize when I got home that he had chosen a crown that was less than 5 years old even though I have some fillings that are 15-20 years old that I had expected him to select! Horrible experience! The person who cleaned my teeth was fine, but the dentist was atrocious. When I needed a filling, I was given something to numb my gums. Unfortunately, he did not wait for the meds to kick in before he started drilling. Nice. He was too busy going on and on about the baseball game he had to get to. Bret Gargaz not only has the WORST bed side manner (he used inappropriate language and told sexually, raunchy stories about his good ol buddies that are in the military) but he is a loud mouth, rude, arrogant, pompous idiot. Don’t flinch when he hurts you or complain about his work or you are likely to be met with rolls of the eyes, huffs, gruff & snooty comments by him. I’ve never felt so put off by a “professional”. Staff was very nice and professional. The doctor however is the problem. I was poked several times with a needle to get my area numb. Than was never totally numb. Then after 2 hours of time in the chair i moved my tongue wrong and Dr Gargaz proceded to grab my tongue with a hemostat to move it out of his way. This hurts very badly. After all was said and done 2 of the fillings that were done were not done correctly and 2 of my teeth were fused. This doctor is the heart of the problem.
