This doctor was on call over the weekend a few days after I had knee replacement surgery. I called due to severe nausea. He not only would not address the problem, nor provide a common prescription for the nausea, but after a 1 minute conversation, he told me to take Tylenol and hung up on me. If he is going to be on call, he has an obligation to help patients--this is not what a doctor should be.

Business response:

This patient is very confused as I do not take call. Please disregard this review. Thank you.

The most competent doctor I've had to deal with. He is a teacher, researcher and clinician. I am a physician at the NIH and did my research prior to my surgery which has gone splendidly.

I saw Dr. Murthi for shoulder surgery and was so excited after many failed surgeries he was going to fix my shoulder. Had surgery did therapy and wasn’t any better Went back he told me give it time which I did however not any better ! Called to make appointment and was put on hold to my surprise Dr Murthi proceeds to tell me he would not see me and what did I expect with all that damage to my shoulder ! Would not let me schedule an appointment now I still can’t lift my arm above my hip THANKS

Business response:

In our practice we often see irreparable complex damage from previous surgery. Unfortunately sometime despite our best efforts we cannot improve function. We strive to educate these patients and establish proper expectations in these complex revision cases.

He is probably a very skilled surgeon but when I had some problems after my operation, it was impossible to get him on the phone. It took a month for him to call me back.

Dr Murthi is a Great Doctor. Had a very severe shoulder dislocation causing a bad labrum slap tear and severe shoulder impingement. When conservative treatment did not work i researched to meet with Dr Murthi. He was very kind and explained my condition what needed to be done to reduce pain and for me to get back into the gym. I had surgery with Dr Murthi and I will say it was the best decision of my life. I am 2 and half months post open and have little to no pain anymore.

I recently fractured my clavicle while playing squash. Dr. Murthi's staff knowing this was emergent got me in the next day. While he is extremely busy, he met with me and explained my injury and the options for treatment. He has a very calm, confident demeanor and we trusted him completely. Surgery went great last week. I've taken no medication as he uses a long lasting numbing medicine. I'm on my stationary bike and feel great. I'm sure I will recover 100%. He's great. Find the right doc.

The best doctor in the world. I'm back as a professional photographer. I never took one pain pill after surgery. He set me up with the best therapist. What a great experience.

I should of written this review quite some time ago, it's been close to 2 years now since Dr. Murthi repaired my torn tendons to my tricep, over 50% was torn and of course being a guy I waited to long to have it repaired. I am a very active guy at 56 years old that still likes to lift weights. I can't thank Doctor Murthi enough I am at 100% do to his expertise. Thank you, Frank J. Christensen
