Her new office is great. I always learn something when I see Dr. Amy! Her info on Covid was really interesting!
I've been taking my mom to Dr. Dukoff for the last few weeks and she's been so understanding about my mom's anxiety about the dentist. My mom's always had bad teeth so that's made her more anxious about the dentist. Dr Dukoff's been so understanding and willing to work with her to get my mom the work she needs.
Dr. Dukoff knows her stuff. She was able to diagnose my pain and get me a treatment plan quickly. She answered my questions and when I asked about pain management she gave me option. Great office
Dukoff was uninterested and uncaring. I could hear her on the phone as it is a tiny office. She was screaming at a former patient for not paying the bill. She took me an hour late and she had only a part time worker. I didn’t sign any papers and she refused to give me a receipt for the cash I paid.
I waited 45 minutes into the appointment time. She made me pay $450 out-of-pocket for a scan that wasn’t calibrated. Based on this scan she decided I needed an extraction due to a root fracture. I left immediately and went to see my dentist. I didn’t need an extraction and her scans were faulty.
She makes you pay $450 out of pocket for a CENB scan that isn’t calibrated and therefore not accurate. This is out-of-pocket and not covered by insurance. She bases her evaluation on this scan which is a mistake. I walked out.

I waited over an hour into the appointment time. Dukoff insisted I do a bone scan which was $459 cash. She said insurance would reimburse. They didn’t. Dukoff refused to confirm with my dentist what was to be done. She acted on her own and said my tooth had a fracture and needed to be extracted. Her x rays were not dense enough and my dentist said it was another root. Dukoff is just out for the money.
In was in the city for a few days. My tooth started hurting so I asked a friend for a recommendation. She recommended Dr. Dukoff. Turns out I needed a root canal. I was taken in with little waiting. I found the office staff to be very nice. Dr. Dukoff explained the procedure and answered my questions. Simple and efficient. If I am in the city and need an endodontist, I would certainly go back to her.
