I agree whole heartedly with all the negative reviews of this doctor. It is all true. She suddenly stopped a medication I’d been on for over 30 yrs. I suffered from terrible withdrawals for 2 months and ended up in the hospital. During that trying time I repeatedly tried reaching her for help but she never did help me and would only talk to me through her nurse. I don’t even know where to start. I have never met a doctor that was so into themselves. She was very condescending would not listen to why I am trying to see a psychiatrist to get rid of anxiety. I have never met anybody like her. She rolls over you and talks the whole appointment. I can’t even explain everything that she did that was so unprofessional. Dr. Yap-Lacap has been my psychiatrist for over a year. She is phenomenal, a once-in-a-lifetime find! She forms a close alliance with each patient. As a result, we work together as a team. She allows micro-dosing of my anti-depressant. The prescription puts the ball in my court, allows me to decide how much (or how little) I need within safe boundaries set in advance by her. Dr. Yap-Lacap is the antithesis of a bad psychiatrist. She's absolutely caught up in her own beliefs and doesn't actually listen, or hear, the person sitting in front of her. She's short-tempered, condescending, and actually raised her voice at me telling me my reality (which has been confirmed many times over before and since by other doctors and psychologists), wasn't accurate. Dr. Yap-Lacap helped me get through one of the hardest times in my life. She helped me understand where my anxiety came from. She didn't throw medication at me but allowed me to find my correct dose and it really has changed my life.
I have been a patient of Dr. Lap-Lacap for a number of years. She has helped so much with not only my anxiety issues but how to better handle neurological issues caused by my aneurysm rupture and stroke. She has been very patient while I explain my issues and fears. The counsel I have received has made my life much better. Thank you!
For 39 years of my life I was barely getting by. Couldn't hold a job, constant anxiety and untamed mania. Dr. Yap not only took the time to listen to me and understand my challenges but she developed a medicine routine which gave me some control over my day to day living. I would never, ever want to switch to another doctor unless I had no other choice. Couldn't be happier and would completely recommend.
Dr Yap is very open to discussions and does not shy away from truth. She is a great asset to the Kaiser Team.
