This doctor was horrible. He caused me more pain during his exam, does not at all believe in bedside manner, and refused to investigate the cause for my knee pain; he said the "cause is irrelevant to me" after draining almost 100cc of fluid from my knee. Without knowing what's causing my pain he refused to give me a scrip for an MRI yet scheduled me for PT, where I would have done more damage. My 2nd opinion doctor set me up with an MRI the next day. Do NOT go see this dude. He sucks!

Dr. Shakira is a great surgeon. I had ankle surgery, and I only had pain, for to days. He doesn’t believe in keeping you doped up. He gave me medication to get me over the hump. With was great for me, because I’m in recovery fifteen years. Thanks Doc.

Dr. Shakir did hip replacement surgery 2 weeks ago on my left hip. Surgery lasted a couple of hour and within several hours out of recovery I was up and walking with no pain at all. My family was amazed. Came home two days later and have not had any pain since the surgery. What a relief to get rid of that pain before replacement. Loved Dr. Sahkir and his concern for you as a patient. Would recommend him to anyone.

I was treated for my right knee on 18th Jan, 2017. (Miniscus tear surgery). Dr. Shakir did an amazing job with the surgery, I felt no pain during or after the treatment. I was back on feet within two days. The staff and the doctor himself were extremely friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend going to this doctor. 5 STAR!

I would not recommend Dr. Shakir to my friends, family, or my worst enemy. I had gone to him for a knee injury. Both appointments I waited over a half hour and both visits he did not sit with me for more than 5-7 minutes. I traveled a half hour for him. 2 weeks after my second visit with him i broke my knee walking at work and was told if he had not given me a cortisone shot I probably would have known my knee wasn't healthy. Needless to say I found a new doctor. I advise you to also.

I went to Dr. Shakir with two wrist that every single bone in both wrists were completely broken. Not one bone in either wrist was still in tact. He did surgery on both with pins, plates, screws and other hardware. Then sent me to physical therapy. I saw the before surgery X-rays and after. He did an amazing job and I have more movement and use of my hands than I ever thought possible. He is the best orthopedic surgeon on the east coast.
