We are a family run company and have been in the roofing business since 1975. We use most brands of shingles but concentrate on Certainteed Landmark. This product is high-grade and aesthetic. There has been many faulty shingles in recent years so we've turned to Certainteed products to avoid this. We have a friendly crew with a lot of experience, who have a very high quality of work. Broken evestrough, partial new roof/flashing After my first general contractor walked out on a number of jobs to be done in a house for sale, I came to Home Stars for help. New roof on main part of house We evaluated four roofers, including three from Homestars and one 'budget' roofer. The budget guy was indeed cheap, but it was clear we were getting a much lower quality roof in terms of materials and attention to detail. Replaced shingles on a bay window We had a relatively small job to do: replace the cedar shingles on a bay window. I knew that it was a small job, but I wanted to get it done before the decaying and missing shingles led to more serious problems. Roof Repair During a wind storm we heard a hammering noise and realized it was part of our roof that was flapping in the wind at the corner of our house! Afraid the roof might partially break off, or worse- it might start raining and damage the front part of our house, I put in some frantic calls to see if anyone could come and fix it. roof repairs We needed some roof repairs before winter arrives and Downtown Roofing did an excellent job. They came when they said they would to give us an estimate. New flat roof installation, new gutters/downspout We found Joe on Homestars. He was courteous, professional and prompt from the beginning. His estimate was reasonable and fell right in the middle of all the quotes we'd received. His crew arrived on time, completed the job on time and left our property cleaner than when they arrived! New shingles, tune-up of flat roof Downtown was very responsive to my call and actually walked the roof to give me quote (as opposed to some other companies). Owner's son Aaron supervised a large team and did a good job of re-shingling our roof efficiently. I requested the owner be on-site and he did check everything over before the crew left. The site was left clean and 6 months later we have no complaints. The idea of a 'tune-up' of our flat roof was theirs, and did lower the price.
Roof Snow Shuffling We had so much snow on the roof top and an ice dam had formed, causing a leak into the living room on a Saturday afternoon. I called Joe right away, he answered the phone himself and sent out a workman promptly the next day, which was a Sunday. Snow was shuffled off the roof and there's no more leaking. Joe and his workers are reliable and hard working.
