I love Dowlen Road Veterinary Center. I have used them for years, with several pets. The staff and veterinarians have done everything from routine exams, shots, spays and neuters to treating and saving a very young kitten we rescued by pulling her out of someone's car engine. We took our Aussie in after some severe weight loss, from 45 pounds to 22 pounds in a month. Our normal Vet had been treating her and we even took her to the Texas A & M emergency room. On Monday July 3rd our regular Vet was closed, so we brought our Baby in on an Emergency visit. First impression, they were so gentle and loving to our puppy. Dowlen road is a horrible clinic. After taking our cat in to be seen about an abscess in his head they lanced it and sent us home with a basic antibiotic and some ointment. Of course a month later, the abscess came back. This time they lanced it and inserted tubes then proceeded to send us home with the tubes in his head with no instruction on how to care for it and no antibiotic of any kind. Very unprofessional. It's bad when the receptionist admits there's a problem, but does nothing to remedy the situation.
I called this office on the recommendation of a friend. My Lacy, a 6 lb Maltese, needed her teeth cleaned and a small pea sized mass on her abdomen removed. When I went in for the appointment I was told there wasn't one scheduled. I do understand these things can happen and rescheduled for the next day. No big deal.
