Good food nice ambience – We were able to walk in and get a table in a nice area of the restaurant. The decor was unbelievable and the food was delicous. The waitress was nice but not overly attentive. We had to ask for things twice and when asked the second time, an attitude was given. But overall, the food was great and thats whats important. The prices were decent and I would definitely return.
DO NOT EAT HERE!! – I made reservations two weeks in advance for Dos Caminos on Saturday 1/20 for 9 people based on a friend's recommendation. My brother and some friends were in New York to visit from Philadelphia and we wanted to have a great night out in NY. Dos Caminos is NOT the place to go for this! We arrived at 8 and did not receive our first drink until almost nine. We then ordered dinner and that did not arrive until almost 10. I had the Ribeye Steak Alambre and my girlfriend had the Cochinita Pibil (pork). My stea... read more
Excellent high quality mexican (not tex-mex) and not nuveau rich either – We darkened the doorway of this faulous Mexican restaurant for our last meal of a 4 day jaunt to New York. We went there for lunch before we left for JFK and our flight home. Yes, the guacamole is wonderful - and filling. I would suggest if you do get the guac for appetizer that you order your meal half way through eating this wonderful dish because it's so filling. My wife and I decided to split the ceviche sampler and it was outstanding. If you are w... read more
Go for drinks – This place is great for drinks....they have a HUGE selection. The food is great and I have yet to be disappointed. Always a great place to go for a last minute plans and a great brunch on the wkends. Tends to be crowded in SoHo (during the nice weather) but otherwise usually prompt seating.
Fabulous Atmosphere!!!! – I absolutely love this place! Their food is amazing...the drinks go down easy. It can get quite crowded so reservations are HIGHLY recommended.
offensive customer service – Food is mediocre with the exception of the guacamole, which is fresh and delightful. Trying to eat or order takeout from Dos Caminos, unfortunately, is intolerable as the staff tend to be slow and extremely rude. The guacamole is not worth the headache.
Good not Great – The atmosphere and dessert makes it worth the money. We ordered the guacomle and cazuela de queso for appetizers, both of which were good. The cazeula de queso though is extremely heavy and I wouldn't recommend it as a second appetizer (too filling). For entree I had the Al Carbon tacos and my friend had the enchiladas. Both were good, yet nothing different from any other mexican restaurant. For dessert we had the cheesecake, and it made our night. It was simply delicious! A tad expensive, but for the atmosp... read more
excellent guacamole, entrees, desserts and service – great food, desserts (!!!) and service. i ordered the guacamole medium and it was still a bit too spicy for me (maybe too many onions too) so next time i would probably get it mild. but its still the most amazing guacamole. our waitress was really sweet too, even though the place was packed and loud, she was very attentive and we did not feel rushed at all. the carne asada was excellent.
Great Atmosphere... DELISH guac – Most guac at restaurants are not worth mentioning... but one taste of Dos Cominos GUAC and youll never order it anywhere else... Great food overall. The special for the night was payaya... DELISH... Service was slow but not terrible. Our waitress forgot to light the candle on the fondue... Otherwise, this is a great place for bday dinners or drinks...
