Right On! – This place is good! I went with little expectations and was happily surprised. From the minute I walked in the door the staff was friendly (almost felt like they were happy to seeme). The waitress knew her stuff too and made great reccomendations (Get that Fernando something Azul margarita). We had the guacamole made right in front of us and THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD! The pork taco was succulent and juicy. My wife had the swordfish and we both loved it. or dessert we had the PB ice cream sundae. It has all I thought... read more

HOt Mexican... – Went on Friday. Great dining vibe on a Friday if you're planning on going out afterwards. The energy is great, people are young and hip, decor is trendy, funky and strong. Waiters are pleasant. My mouth waters just thinking about the food. You must order the guacamole, it's to die for. Some good choices are the pork soft shelll tacos, roast beef, shrimp enchilladas and some Sangria to wash it all down with. Excellent food that you must try! Brunch here is also equally fantastic. Try the Benedict quesidilla, ... read more

This place is Delish – if you like mexican food -- you have to try this place... excellent guac, prickly pear marg, and the seabass was good too :) they have a great drink list but what that liquor intake the bill can add up quickly if you dont like spicy food Speak Up - they can do dishes limiting the spicy-hotness... ok here's a little translating help "a little spicy" = HotHotHOT (but that could be just me)

High-end cantina scene shows off tequilas and trend-setters on Park Avenue South. – The Scene The restaurant's popularity is due in no small part to co-owners John McDonald and Steve Hanson, who've brought their mix of PR buzz and exquisite design sense to this sprawling space. It feels more intimate than its 250 seats, thanks to a series of cutout screens and a cluster of whimsical hanging lanterns made from tree trunks. The Food Guacamole is made tableside, so you can dictate just how spicy you want it. The kitchen satisfi... read more

I'll settle...I'm satisfied – Having lived in New Mexico for several years, I searched high and low when I moved to NYC because I was accustomed to fresh margs, salsa, guac, tacos, etc. ranging from high-end Santa Fe to the still fresh mex in Albuquerque's south valley. After years of bad luck (i.e. Mary Ann's and Tortilla Flats???) I found Dos Caminos. No, they don't have green chile, sopapillas and chile rellenos. But their excellent guac, prickly pear marg, and adequate mole sauce gets me though some of my cravings. Staff... read more

Service – The food was so so for the price. We had a very nice lobster and shrimp appetizer. It went down hill from there, with "fresh" fish, and main dishes clearly sitting under a heat lamp for too long. After dinner we went to the bar, and were subjected to probably the rudest bartender I have ever encountered. This was highly embarrasing for me, as I had brought out of town guests to dine at what a I am told is a outstanding restaurant.

prix fixe is the BEST – i went here during restaurant week to take advantage of the great prix fixe menu. in addition to the selections on the prix fixe menu, our group also tried the guacamole. everything was very good, including the service and decor/atmosphere. i wouldn't come here often with the normally high prices, but for 30.04/person for 3 courses, it's definitely worth it.

Pricey but Pretty – This place is impossible to penetrate during dinnertime, so go during lunch, like I did. Prices are near-reasonable for the lunch menu. The guacamole is out of this world, you are obliged to try some (anyone who tells you different is full of it). I had a pretty simple chicken sandwich with lots of tasty add-ons and potato crisps. No drinks but the tequila selection seemed very impressive. The decor is on the money, with proper mood lighting and comfortable couch seating. Service was professional, if over... read more

Rosa is Better – OK I admit that am trying Dos Caminos way after its 15 minutes of fame a couple of years ago, but what was that hoopla all about!? On Wednesday evening the place was packed with your basic PAS yuppies, the din was awful, the hostess was cold. Yes, the guac is the best I've had, but the rest of the food was mediocre to plain bad: cold meatballs in our chowder, ceviche with way too much hot pepper to taste anything else, basically revolting meatballs with bland tomato sauce on mushy corn thingies, etc. And yes... read more
