On 28 November 2022 I purchased 3 items at the Dolar General store in Richton Park Il. 1 of which was a loaf of bread. I ate 4 slices out of the loaf and then the next morning 29 November 2022 my wife was preparing breakfast for my grandchild before school and visually discovered mold on more than 25% of the bread in said loaf. Regarding products at Dollar General. Today I purchased 2 kitchen towel/dish cloth sets. I purchased 3 face towels. I washed and dried them. When I took them out of the dryer, the fabric was starting to shred. I realize they wouldn't be top quality, but I did expect them to last a few months. Very disappointed.
On November 3, 2022 My son and I visited Dollar General in Nashville NC as we always shop at this location and for years never encountered any situation. Well on this day we shopped for cleaning supplies with one particular item being (Bleach Spray bathroom cleaner). Apparently the bottle was placed on the shelf with a loose top and spilled on my son and I clothes. Had an awful experience at the dollar general in Greenville Virginia. Had a wrong price rung up and we verified the correct price, instead of taking the tag down she left it so I told her she should take it down so others won't think it's the price shown. In front of my little girl and other customers she loudly yells at me and says my attitude isn't necessary when she's fixing my price. The Dollar General in Buda,TX located on Old Goforth Rd has incorrect prices all through out the store. When you check out the cashier refuses to change the price to the price on the shelf. It's ashamed because this is a fairly new store. You would think they could keep up with the price changes...
I was just in my local DG, in Emmetsburg, IA. The wind chill this morning is 31`. It was cold in the store, and was told corporate has to turn on the heat and they are in Tennessee! If enough people complain they will turn it on. I looked up corporate's phone #, and of course that # is no longer in service! It's supposed to be in the 20's for a high by Friday, I would think someone better be getting the heat on!
The prices marked on the shelves are not correct. Pretty much everything you buy is higher at the register. this is not only at this store, but every dollar general. People are getting ripped off and I see people don't notice or when they do, they're frustrated and just say forget it. I could go to the store buy 10 items, and all of them would be higher prices. this has been going on for years.
I have shopped online at Dollar General twice. Both times I came away overcharged, didn't get everything I ordered, and left disappointed. That's 0 for 2. So no more online ordering at Dollar General for me. I don't intend on getting burned a third time. It's time to start bad-mouthing Dollar General and warning others to steer clear. I bought a dog toy, the type to play tug-of-war with. In less than an hour It ripped at the seams and the stuffing came out. I returned it the same afternoon. The clerk wasn't going to give me a refund because it was damaged. I explained it was a dog toy, and the damage was the problem! She very grudgedly let me replace it with an identical toy.
