The King's Onion soup is AWESOME. Dining in the tavern is always a great experience. I have alwzys had great food and service. It's a destination for me when visiting Gettysburg.

This place never gets old! Even thou I always get the same thing. Glass of Cabernet, French onion soup and a spinach salad with the best hot bacon dressing EVER. Linda was great and her side kick who helped her was also. See you all soon!!

We were given a gift card which we gratefully used. The setting is reminiscent of the past, as is the warm and comfortable interior. We were seated upstairs in a large bedroom. We had a private alcove. The service was outstanding, as were the plentiful portions of food. I enjoyed the best onion soup I have ever eaten. Everything was "the best." We actually had to force two delicious desserts down--we were not willing to miss these final treats to the meal. Driving hone to Baltimore, about one hour away, we excitedly chatted ... read more

Wow! Quaint, unique and why wouldn't you have a drink and/or dinner. Yes it was crowded and we ate dinner at the Tavern bar, but what a great experience at a tavern built 1776! Let bed the candles all around!
