With tons of Chinese restaurants scattered around the city, Din Ho offers something that few others do: traditional Chinese cuisine. Eschewing more Americanized Chinese fare, the expansive menu lists dishes bursting with Chinese vegetables like bitter squash and snow pea leaves, hot pots (meats and veggies served in a hot clay pot), fried tofu dishes, offal and plenty of seafood. One of the specialties of the house is the barbecue - juicy pork and duck served with a sweet and savory, shiny coating. The sounds of the barbecue... read more

Found a DEAD FLY in the dish – Near my working place, DinHo was my first choice for a quick lunch in the past several weeks until I ordered the "BBQ Pork on White Rice" to go from DinHo noon May 15. I found a DEAD FLY in the food. Just want to tell you who see this comment: rethink before you lead your friends to this restaurant. If you have to, check your food carefully before you eat it for your goodness. It sounds disgusting but it's a true story. I strongly don't recommend this restaurant.
Worst experience I have ever had – I never complain. I've never sent food back. I tip 20 percent, sometimes more. But after my terrible experience here, they got nothing extra. I say, Din NO! As in, NO bbq pork, NO roast duck, NO chicken baked in rock salt. I can handle a restaurant being out of a popular dish so I ordered something else -- chicken with broccoli. I waited for about 30 minutes. After seeing people who were seated after me getting their food, I got up and talked to the waiter, who had not returned to my table.... read more
Best chinese in Austin - by far!!! – Amazing General Tso Chichen - best I have ever had in my life. Menu has 150+ items... excellent quality, fresh
Best BBQ Pork I have tried in my life!!! – Excellent Chinese food, Food will make you a continous customer to this restuarant, you'll crave the taste of the food, the rice is awesome, BBQ Pork is a must, try the chinese buns, the Wong Tong, and the wong tong soup. I Just moved two weeks ago to Salt Lake City and I missed this restaurant so much! Highly recommended, True Chinese Food!!
Most Authentic Chinese Food in AUSTIN! – When I crave Chinese food this restaurant is always my first choice. I myself am Chinese and from Houston, where Chinese restaurants are everywhere - so I know good Chinese food when I taste it. Austin is extremely limited in good authentic Chinese food. In fact, I haven't found any other restaurant other than this one that serves authentic Chinese food that isn't Americanized. The items on the menu are comparable to some of the restaurants in Houston, which is a good sign. The servic... read more
Tons of excellent chinese at a reasonable price; dicey service – I have been here several times and have been quite impressed with the large amount of great chinese food they serve at very good prices. A full meal there with substantial leftovers for two people is easily under 20 dollars. The food is generally quite tasty and there is a very large selection. The service varies depending on your server. I have had decent service on some occasions and fairly poor service on others. Either way, I recommend eating here.
One of the best Chinese food in town, HOWEVER, two cashiers are NOT professionally train to service customers. Avoid weekend night. The wait is pretty long. – This is one of the best everyday casual dining Chinese restaurants in town; however, the service part of the restaurant is little bit weak. Especially, the person over the service counter does not have any good training to talk to a customer. I have been going to this restaurant for years now, and this is the second time that I have been insulted by the people over the... read more
Best chinese food in Austin – This is by far the best Chinese food I've found in Austin. (I'm chinese and used to live in Houston, so I'm a pretty good judge). It's also very reasonably priced. All the 'bad service' comments must come from people who don't frequent Chinese restaurants--the service isn't fantastic, but it's no worse than most Asian places. Definitely give it a try!
Best Chinese Food in Austin – This is one of the very few authentic Chinese restaurants in Austin. Although the price and quality of food pales in comparison to anything you can find in Bellaire in Houston, for Austin it is a great deal. Since this restaurant works family style (everyone shares the plates), I strongly recommend coming with a group larger than 3 at least! Also, the total amount of menu item you order should be about one less than the total amount of people in your group. I also strongly recommend not getting ... read more
