Respectfully, I highly recommend against banking with DCU. I am posting this for public service. Very objectively here are some things to be aware of. They are a Credit Union--The differentiating factor is that Credit Unions, unlike Banks are supposed to be not-for-profit organizations that exist to serve their members. They are also supposed to offer more reasonable rates and other features than banks, since they exist to serve members. However, DCU does not live up to these values. Horrible experience with this credit union, and they won't even stand up for the little guy either. I've been trying to rebuild my credit and get back on my feet financially, then ended up being a victim of an online ******* *********scam. Long story short, I told DCU's useless fraud department about the whole thing. If refinancing DO NOT GO TO *** ***** OR DCU. It's a setup. DCU WILL NOT GIVE CONSUMER THE DOCUMENTATION that is needed in order to refinance. THIS IS A FEDERAL CREDIT UNION AND THEY REFUSE TO GIVE A CONSUMER WHAT THEY NEED. THEY ARE FULL; OF ******
Horrible ! If you fall on hard times due to a job loss or financial hardship they don't care. If you get behind on a loan and you have a checking account with them, they will just take the payment out with no warning and or lock your debit card so you cant use it until the payment that is behind is made. They did this even after I had called and spoke to them and set up a payment date. They will tell you sorry but its our right if your loan is behind to do this to you with no warning. DCU sent me an email saying "Congratulations, your auto loan was approved". I then uploaded my documents to them and called them multiple times during the week. One of the employees I talked to said I was approved up to a certain dollar amount and all they needed was the sales agreement to complete the loan. I uploaded the sales agreement which was under the amount I was told I was approved for, called them and they proceeded to tell me they were going to deny my application. I was shocked! Long wait times trying to speak to someone. Everytime you call you will work with someone else. And they are not all on the same page. Was approved and worked with them all day to get my car just to find out from the last rep i was not approved
my name is ****** ******, A 79 YEAR OLD THEY ARE A ****** FINANCIAL INSTITUTION toward minority especially blacks. initially, they approved and complete my auto loan for $8000, 2 weeks later they requested additional paystubs and w2 forms and tax returns for 2016 and 2017, i submitted those documents 10 days later. then they declined my auto loan because they stated, i submitted those documents 10 days later . how can you decline for an individual with 700= credit score with no derogatory or auto loan on his credit. also, so... read more
I, ***** ******, have sent emails, phone calls, and requested new documentation to login in the bank. I have a loan through them for my solar panels. My 1st bill is due in December. The employees are unable to help and the documents sent to me for my member I'd and password don't work. I've been trying to login for 2 months. I'm unable to set up my payment for these reasons.
I tried 10 different banks for a personal loan approval. Despite having stellar credit score and good cash flow from my pay check, I was turned down. DCU was excellent in not only approving the loan but also in making the process look extremely simple. I was approved for 60% of the loan amount that I requested; however, the other banks were not even ready to provide 10% of that amount. I wish I had become a member years ago.
