I recently found out that the kitchen in our house was installed by Dickson Joinery, a local company I assumed did quality work. However, the kitchen installation was totally botched in a pretty significant way — not only did the joiner not use a waterproof membrane between worktop and sink/white goods area (per my plumber, this is de rigueur), but they used an unfinished worktop for the sink area and breakfast bar (the underside is rough MDF) and didn’t seal the sink area.
