Extremely surprised to see some negative comments for Destination Big Bear. I have been renting homes from this company for well over 10 years. Several times throughout the year (several different homes). Having used other rental companies in other cities, as well as vrbo & air bnb's, I have dealt with many people who misrepresent the homes they are renting. I was charged for carpet cleaning because of dog pee, but I don’t have a dog. Can’t get ahold of management. Terrible customer service.

Worst experience ever. Rented a lake front property months in advance and got to the front desk to pick up the keys (guy said nothing, gave us keys). We arrived to the cabin and found out the property was sold. We were never told in advance, no email about them selling the lot and the property owners told us destination big bear was supposed to cancel all their bookings and contracts months ago. We didn’t even get as far as staying in a cabin there! I rented a cabin and then was called and told it was double booked. I immediately called back to figure things out. I didn’t want to reschedule since we were going up for my birthday. They didn’t call me back for two days so I called again and was told Nicholas would call me back after 11:00 when he got in. Worst “vacation” of my life. We rented the house for 5 nights, but left after 4 nights. We couldn’t take it any more. I’ll focus on the house details that made our trip miserable. The house that Destination Big Bear manages & maintains though. We rented a house called BIG SKY. The pictures looked stunning. However, the reality is grim. There was a massive moth infestation.
