It has been a year since I had my hip replaced and I feel great! After my first visit, with Dr. David Kaufman, I was convinced that he was the right surgeon for me. He explained the procedure in detail from surgery to recovery, thus putting my anxiety to rest. I feel Dr. Kaufman is an exceptional surgeon with an outstanding degree of both knowledge and experience. Just as importantly his care and respect for his patients shines brightly. I would highly recommend him.
He replaced my right knee in January 2019 and I have been in constant pain since about six months later. He blew me off at the one-year mark, blaming arthritis in my spine but that has since been ruled out by other doctors at Northwestern. Surgery also created a half inch leg length discrepancy that I am still struggling with. He recently moved to Hawaii.
If there were 100 stars, I would give Dr. Kaufman all of them! In the past year, he replaced both of my hips and they are PERFECT. My recovery for both has been remarkable. Dr. Kaufman listens, is patient, and explains his process and results in a comforting manner. You feel incredibly cared for. His team, including Karla Stewart PA-C is outstanding. I highly recommend Dr. Kaufman.
I just had my 2nd knee replacement done by Dr Kaufman and could not be more thrilled at the outcome. I was back to work after 5 weeks just like my other knee. Dr Kaufman is an excellent doctor and so is is team. I highly recommend Dr Kaufman.
Dr. Kaufman and his incredibly amazing team, if you are fortunate enough to get him/them, will perform their scientific alchemy and get you walking and back to your life. They practice with such unusual compassion and intelligent consideration you'll feel like something beyond your power has placed you in their capable hands.
I went through a very traumatic experience with my original choice for my knee replacement surgeries. At Ortho Illinois I was slandered, mistreated, degraded and left to fell all alone after a year of planning. Fortunately their Risk and credentiality manager found that they were to blame and sincerely apologized to me and led me to contact a different list of Doctors fro Northwestern Memorial’s listings and I prayerfully choice Dr. Kaufman . I highly recommend Dr. Kaufman and the wonderful staff who support him if you seek a highly skilled surgeon and the very best in care. My experience with Dr. Kaufman has been through two major operations (hip replacement and knee replacement) and both resulted in gratifying outcomes that improved my mobility and, therefore, my life considerably. Dr. Kaufman performed a total right hip replacement five and a half weeks ago. The surgery went very well.His team sent an excellent physical therapist to my home for the first two weeks.Since them I have been going to outside P.T. My husband had a total knee replacement three years ago (by another doctor) and was still in pain afterward. The other doctor just had him come in every 3 months for injections. We went to Dr. Kaufmans office, he took several x-rays and diagnosed the problem immediately. He explained everything thoroughly and suggested a revision on the knee replacement.
