In our very first visit to Dr. Kemper's office everyone treated us with great care, from the time we entered the reception room until we passed through check out desk. We highly recommend using Austin Brain and Spine.
I had Dr. Kemper do my surgery. After seeing two other doctors Dr. Kemper was the only doctor that gave me positive feedback on the surgery. That gave me reassurance on the out come my surgery. I was right Dr. Kemper did an outstanding job. I had no pain on the incision and right after the anesthesia wore off I was up and walking around. Dr. Kemper was recommended to me by a physical therapist who was working with me to rehab a knee replacement. During the rehab, I developed weakness in both legs and my chronic but manageable low back pain became worse. After seeing an orthopedic back surgeon at BS&W recommenced by my PCP, I chose to get a second opinion on the condition of my spine. I had a follow-up visit with Dr, Kemper on July 17th ---this was a 1st anniversary appointment having had brain surgery in 2018.. Everything was "fine" on this annual visit.. Dr. Kemper is terrific----prior to the surgery he explained everything that he would have to do and then completed the surgery ...We're glad he's here in Austin !
Dr. Kemper had performed two lumbar laminectomies on my spine. The first was as an emergency patient, the second was by choice. I have had excellent results with both. I am currently recovering from the second surgery. I like his professionalism, skill, and the fact he asks you what you, the patient, wants. He then gives you options and his opinion. I’m a 100% disabled veteran that has been dependent on heavy opioids for about 3 decades. The VA felt it was better to manage the pain rather than fix what was broken. It took a congressional inquiry to make this happen but when it did they let me choose anyone I wanted to do the surgery. I have 2 young boys and I owed it to them and myself to find the best.
