Great traditional favorites – I loved the Country Cat, it's a place that focuses on many traditional food favorites made with the best ingredients and superb skill. The food is of top quality (anything with vegetables is sure to be fresh and delicious), prices are reasonable for what you get, and service was friendly and attentive (but without the annoying hover). NOT to be MISSED!! :) – This is a great addition to Portland's restaurant scene! High quality, innovative food in a comfortable atmosphere is to be coveted and supported. I've been a regular since their opening and have only seen improvements (And I loved it the first time I was there!). The service is fastidious without being overbearing or condescending. Delicious, comfortable, and locally grown! – We've eaten at this restaurant once a week since it opened. We hope that one day it will also open for breakfast and lunch. The food is absolutely fabulous, as well as seasonal and locally-grown. We have tried almost everything on the menu, which changes often as they try out new dishes. Have not had a bad meal yet. Outstanding! – We have been to the Country Cat a total of three times so far and have to stop ourselves from going back each night! The food is to die for and the staff and chefs are extremely humble, appreciative and down to earth. We have sampled a bit of everything, the chicken and salmon are wonderful, but the real reason to go is for the hamburger. Hands down, the best I've ever had. This place is going to become a destination! – Great experience! Thoroughly enjoyed dinner there with 3 other "foodie" friends on Saturday night. The restaurant was full, but the service didn't suffer, and the noise level was fine for such a small space. Everything we ate was exceptional. Between the 4 of us, we had the barbecued beef (mouth wateringly tender), bacon wrapped trout (moist & flavorful), fried chicken (maybe the best I've had) and my favorite.....the smoked duck legs. GREAT addition to this part of SE Portland – Have eaten at Country Cat 3 times. Every meal was very satisfying. Had the fried chicken on opening night. It was slightly dry, but likely an opening night jitter, as folks rave about it, will have to try it again. The "whole hog" was fabulous on another visit. Four different pork cuts, all unique in flavor and the sauce surrounding the bed of corn grits tastes like liquid bacon, without a trace of grease. Absolutely stunning. Amazing dining experience – We have been to The Country Cat many times now and have always left happy and satified. We receive great customer service and the food is consistently on point. The wait staff is every attetive and take every opportunity to assure that we are happy with our experience. I can't wait to go back!
