Whole hog, but not whole cow! – The first time four of us had dinner at The Country Cat, we thought the food was fresh, well-prepared, original, and very good. However, when two of us returned a second time, on a Friday evening, the restaurant was literally filled with families with young children, so it was noisier and a much less peaceful and relaxing atmosphere than during our first visit. Great brunch! – Wonderful steak and eggs! The kids thoroughly enjoyed their food too! We live close to Hillsboro, so it's a bit of a hike for us to eat there, but we'll definitely return. It's that good!
Farm Fresh food – I love to eat here. You have to try this place, everything is made from scratch, even the ketchup. Best Ever : grits, mashed taters, pork belly, deviled egg, and more.... Oshkosh B'Gosh!
Varied menu – I ordered the duck, kale and potatoes dish and it was fine, a little skimpy on the duck and the potatoes were huge chunks, making up for the lack of duck on the plate. less potatoes, more duck, less vinegar and it would be fine. The espresso was stumptown, not bad. Will go back to try different things there

Great food, Friendly Staff! – When we showed up (about 8:00pm on a friday) it was pretty busy and the hostess said it would be an approximate wait of 30 minutes. We went up to the bar and had a couple drinks. About 15 minutes later were seated. We had the Carlton Farms Whole Hog and the Grilled Strawberry Mountain Beef, both were excellent. Food like I wish my mom would have made. – My husband and I went to The Country Cat for the first time on Saturday night. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to get a table because we hadn't made reservations but we were seated promptly in a nice booth. The service was absolutely excellent. Great Comfort Food – We finally made it to the Country Cat and what an experience! It's a lovely, warm room and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The onion rings were exceptional and easy to share among the four of us. The Country Cat, Montavilla's Newest Treasure – An intimate environment, friendly and fun staff. Since it's opening in my neighborhood I have become somewat of a regular at the Country Cat. Enough so that Adam, the owner, will wave at me if he catches me walking by, which shows their neighborhood spirit and that I am not just a number.
