Have had a prescription pair for slightly over 2.5 years. They were close to 3 times more than typical prescription Oakley sunglasses. Lenses themselves are great; however the frames have not held up well. The nose pieces completely wore off after the first year, which I just dealt with as it wasn't worth the hassle of having my eye care provider send back to the company. I should've been proactive though as I was cleaning the lenses and the entire frame broke in 2. Went to my eye care provider and Costa quoted $180 to repla... read more

I received a pair of costas for mother's day 2018 and the lens fell out a few months after with zero damage done to the glasses at all with very minimal wear. Sent them in for the lens to be replaced and received an email stating that THIS REPAIR CANNOT BE APPROVED AT THIS TIME. And they charged me to ship them back to me. This is 100% a faulty pair and they refuse to stand behind their product. I then started researching customer issues online and I read that this is a major issue with these glasses and they repair some and... read more

Business response:

Costa Consumer Care has already spoken to Ms. O****** regarding this situation earlier today (8/27/18), based on social media posts that she made. The email that she received had a link in it that she clicked, which took her to her account page on the Costa website, which displayed the message that she stated "THIS REPAIR CANNOT BE APPROVED AT THIS TIME". This is because the warranty was already processed, due to her pre-authorizing when she set up the warranty claim online. There was no further action that needed to be done... read more

********* I just bought these $200 sungalsses for my wife and there was GLUE on the bottom of the frame. I assured my wife they would fix them being a defect on their part. NOPE! They said she dropped them and there are scratches all over. I call to complain and just ZERO respect in customer service. Will NEVER reccommend them for the***** poor job they do to make customers happy.

Business response:

A Supervisor from Costa contacted Mr. B******** regarding this situation and was able to resolve to his satisfaction. The frame on the Costa sunglasses in question is being replaced under warranty. All warranty processing fees that were charged to Mr. B******** are being refunded. The sunglasses have already shipped and are due to be delivered today.

Love the quality that goes in a pair of Costas. With that said, any issues I have had with any pair have been either repairs or replaced easily. I most recently had an issue with the coating/layers on the lenses starting to delaminate. I sent them in and since they were discontinued they sent me a pair that I got to pick to replace the old ones. Without any extra charges or anything. If you aren't wearing Costas you aren't seeing everything.

I bought a pair of prescription Costas for around $800 around 12 months ago. They have been the best sunglasses I've ever owned. However they have delaminated twice in 12 months and have had to be sent back under warranty and repaired. I've been charged processing fees which is fine. My concern is if they continue the pattern of delamination I will be out of warranty in a few months. If it's a manufacturing defect, what can I do. I sent an email to Costa over three weeks ago asking them about this situation. I received a rob... read more

Business response:

Mr. L******** is correct in that he has had two delamination claims on his Rx glasses within the past 12 months; however, this is not a common occurrence for Costa Rx lenses. It is our hope that he will not experience any additional issues with his lenses, but should there be an issue that does occur outside of the warranty period for a reason determined by our Rx Warranty Team as manufacturer defect, we would evaluate the option of replacing them. Should Mr. L******** experience any additional issues, either within or outsi... read more

I have had my Costa sunglasses for 10 years and I love them. I have sent them in for warranty work a couple of times and they have sent me new glasses and a new case a couple of time. Their service is awesome! I recommend them to all my friends and family.

Business response:

Thank you for the positive feedback, Tom! We appreciate you being a longtime consumer and fan of the brand!

I sent my sunglasses in for a repair consultation and was prompted to contact Costa after a couple of weeks. I tried calling 3 days in a row and ended the calls each time after waiting on hold for approximately 20 minutes each time. I then sent an email through Costa's "Contact Us" message system at which time I got an auto response saying I'd be contacted shortly. 24 hours later still no response at all. I just cut and pasted my first message and sent a second time. Costa, if you actually read this, please refer to order #*... read more

Business response:

On 6/29/18, a supervisor in the Call Center reached out to the consumer to discuss repair consultation and this matter has now been resolved, with a positive outcome for the consumer. Costa sincerely apologizes for the delay in our email response to the consumer and we are working to improve our email communication timing as well as messaging. Our Call Center database shows that the consumer made four calls over the course of two days, of which the longest hold time was 13 minutes prior to disconnecting. Other hold times did... read more

Costa Del Mar only cares about the first sale they have LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE! I own about 12 pairs of 'good sunglasses' ranging from Kaenon, Maui J** and 6 pairs of Costas. When I stock piled 9 damaged or warranted glasses I mailed 2-3 pairs each to the respective companies. The only company to have LOUSY customer service is Costa. I don't really have an opinion on the quality of their glasses since all are comparable. However, the customer service I did not receive at COSTA is astounding. Many hours wasted on hold or wait... read more

Business response:

Ms. G*****'s initial contact with Costa's Consumer Care Department resulted in confusion due to miscommunication regarding multiple orders that she has on file with us. In an effort to sort out the confusion, our Consumer Care Supervisor, Christy, reached out to Ms. G***** directly on 5/21/18 and offered her a pre-paid shipping label for any and all Costa sunglasses that she needed repaired to be sent in directly to Christy's attention. Ms. G***** utilized the shipping label to send in four (4) pair of Costa sunglasses that ... read more

I have waited on hold for hours trying to get in touch with someone @ costa del mar. I have emailed them on their online contact tab. no response. All I need is a screw sent to my house. I do not want to pay there $11.95 fee for sending them back and I also do not have the time to do that. I need my glasses for memorial day weekend. I have owned costas for going on 8 years now. I am seriously considering making the switch to********** or ********. This is ridiculous. I am having the same problem the other reviewer on here ha... read more

Business response:

On 5/2/18, a supervisor in the Repair Shop reached out to the consumer to resolve this matter and address stated concerns. The consumer's repair issue has since been resolved and the consumer is satisfied with the outcome. While our records cannot validate the consumer's claim about an hours-long hold time, the consumer did indeed experience a 2-day delay with our email response system, which we will be adjusting to ensure a smoother, more positive experience for our consumers.
