I like the fact that most times I am informed of how my blood donation was used. I love donating because I know it's a gift that money can not buy and it feels great to help save lives! Next I'm trying donation of platelets that helps cancer patients!!!! I've never been harassed to donate only called 1 time in 3 yrs to see if I could donate because the bank was low on my type. All around it's been a good experience!
I've never had a bad experience donating through the Community Blood Center, but I agree with those that feel like the telemarketing calls are a bit much. I try to donate when I can because I know my blood type is in need, so the regular calls urging me to come in (even when I can't) feel overwhelming.
