An ******************* technician came to conduct a preventative maintenance service on two HV** units of my house (an upstairs downstairs duplex) in **********, ** on September 25, 2023. He reported that while the unit upstairs was fine, the downstairs unit had a cracked heat exchanger and a broken inducer motor. The repair would be $3,946 ($3,437 with my maintenance contract). Been with his company for over 35 years back when it was ******** heating before they were bought out. The techs are very nice. However, the management of this particular franchise is very poor and not customer oriented whatsoever. Theyre like a dog and a bone to get you to renew your service contract. However, when it comes to scheduling your service, they put you to the back of the list even though you ask for a first appointment, you never guaranteed and theyre never on time as promised. Unreliable and unprofessional company. I scheduled an appointment for maintenance of my two units between 8 and 12 am and at 3:30pm I called ARS inquiring about the technician and they assured me that they were working hard to resolved the issue. Nobody called back to give me an update on the situation. I had to call ARS three times to finally have a technician at 4:45 pm for the maintenance of the units. I should learned my ****** a long time ago when similar situations ( more than 15 times)happened in the past with ARS.

They are overpriced. They installed an ac for me and the technician told me to put water once a month but the place he showed me was wrong according to the guy who came out from there when the unit was clogged. When he showed up he informed me they charge a 100. Diagnostic fee which I was never told about and called to complain because felt I should not have to pay that when they did not tell me up front. When I called to make as appointment to get a quote on plumbing needs I thought I was still dealing with ****** Services because I have used this company several times with no complaints. I didn't know at the time that it was not that same hometown company but rather owned by American Residential Services but still doing business as ******. This place took advantage of my mother, an 80-year-old widow. Charged TWICE what other companies wanted for the exact same unit. And NO ONE will return my calls to discuss why her cost was so much. Price gouging, taking advantage of the elderly, non-responsive. DO NOT USE THEM.

Don't show up for appointments. Don't call. Don't return calls. I would never use this company again. They are hit or miss and I am tired or missing. They over charge For Everything. If you don't believe me ... do business with them, at your own risk. But, do at least get a 2nd opinion. I mean seriously, if you have an ER ... it is possible they wont even show up.
