This airport is absolutely terrible. Frontier delayed my sister's flight for over 5 hours and finally when she was able to board the plane the staff kicked her out of the airport for being "too emotional". The only reason she was crying in the first place was because her flight was delayed for so long and she wanted to come home. Airport security then refused to give her their business cards when she asked and just continued to kick her out of the building. Kyle, I would be happy to discuss this with you. It wasn't the airport that denied your sister boarding, but Frontier Airlines. They do so when they believe an individual, for any number of reasons, is not capable of flying. The Colorado Springs Police Department officers who escorted her out and tried to work with her both gave her their business cards and both tried to help her, contrary to what you may have been told and which is recorded on video. Although the Colorado Springs airport is very convenient and the parking is easy and inexpensive it is a shame that there are not good flights. For example, Alaska Airlines pulled out. Everyone was super excited for Frontier Airlines to show up but they have proved to be disappointing. They announced a new direct destination and then after a few months they cancel it. Jill, there are certainly challenges facing smaller airports in the quest to bring more flights in, but cost is not one of them. Since 2013, COS has driven costs to the airlines down more than 70% to less than $5/passenger. By our best estimates, that's 1/3 of the cost the airlines pay at DEN. COS also has a robust incentive package offered to airlines that bring new service in or upgauge to larger aircraft. The only thing that is a disappointment at the Springs Airport is the smoking area. As soon as you walk out both doors both sides have a smoking area. You smell cigarettes and if your standing there long enough to wait for your ride you smell as well. Really Colorado Springs airport you couldn’t of dealt with this in a better manner !
My daughter's Iceland Air plane was diverted to COS last night due to weather. They were supposed to land at DI(International)A. COS is not prepared to handle international flights (no customs) and Iceland Air has no presence there (of course not, they shouldn't). They needed to simply refuel but then a mechanical issue was discovered. That plane is not serviced in COS so that presented another issue. Hello Lynne, Thank you for your positive review. We have an active plan for dealing with diversions; however, it is a rare occasion for us to have an international diversion. Since we are not an international airport, it does create a challenge for us. We’re glad your daughter made it home safe.
Landed last night on a UA flight. Sad to see soo many people stranded @ COS AGAIN thanks to Frontier's delays. For all the bragging about increased boardings, how many are cancelling due to Frontiers inability to have ontime flights. Several times I have had to opt to DIA for my business travel because flights out of COS are 2-3X higher than out of DIA.

Hello Ken, On June 29, we had 20 aircraft that was diverted from Denver International Airport. We’re a primary diversion airport for Denver, and most of these flights were not from Frontier airlines. We’re glad you made it in.
