About this business

Established in 2012. While the modern day version of Cohen's Retreat began in 2012, the sprawling 5 acre estate is an icon of Savannah's history. Built in 1934, the main building functioned as a nursing home for over 50 years. Renovated by the current owner, Cohen's Retreat has been lovingly restored to become one of the City's most eclectic destination for art, food and community. A must-see hidden gem off the beaten path! Artisan Market, Guest Cottages & Restaurant!

My wife had the special country fried steak and said it was the best she ever had. She will not be able to eat it anywhere else again. We can't wai... read more

I thought that the food was wonderful and the decor was very nice and well done. The service unfortunately was very amateurish and did not match the environment. The good news is that service is fixable; they need a trainer who knows how to serve properly and then pass that on to the team. That would take it to 5 stars.

We were given a small table in front of the kitchen door. The table top wobbled like it was about to fall off. Even after our waiter had delivered us drinks and taken our order did no one try to fix it for us. I ordered the pimento cheese appitizer. When we tried to bite... read more
