Built in 1934, the main building functioned as a nursing home for over 50 years. Renovated by the current owner, Cohen's Retreat has been lovingly restored to become one of the City's most eclectic destination for art, food and community. RecommendedCohen’s has amazing food and even more amazing staff. I have a two part story. The first time my boyfriend and I went to Cohen’s, we made reservations, got all dressed up, the whole nine yards. We pulled into the parking lot and went to walk inside when we realized our cars taillights weren’t turning off. Not wanting to come out to a dead battery, we tried to figure out the issue. Clean, super friendly & knowledgeable staff, great location, and the decor is out of this world. How we've overlooked this place for the last 30 years we'll never know. we'll be back, that's for sure.

GREAT FOOD. WE HAD A GOOD TIME.
Very poorly run business. They use open table to make reservations. So we reserved a table for 7 for a Birthday dinner celebration 6-8 weeks in advance. They preceded to call us 7 hours before our reservation to say they could not accommodate us that night. Never apologized or explained themselves. Not sure how anyone could run a restaurant like this and stay open. We were actually going back for a second chance visit after the first visit involved horrible table service by the wait staff.
