Built in 1934, the main building functioned as a nursing home for over 50 years. Renovated by the current owner, Cohen's Retreat has been lovingly restored to become one of the City's most eclectic destination for art, food and community. My wife and I dined here in February. The atmosphere was great along with the food. The staff was excellent and made it a place I will choose to eat at time and again.
RecommendedCohen's Retreat was absolutely one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in Savannah. A relaxed and eclectic atmosphere, an attentive staff and an outstanding menu. And the desserts were excellent! What a great value. I'll be back very soon. Thanks for the wonderful family memory!

An Eclectic Treasure! Perfect atmosphere and food (you should try the Cohen's turkey club). Dessert was special because it included shopping! I purchased a monogrammed bag! The GM, Mr. Q, and staff were extremely pleasant from opening doors to taking a picture for us! Everything and everyone: sweet & lovely! So excited for dinner hours coming very soon! I will be returning very soon to this treasure! Thank you kindly!!!

I can't say enough great things about Cohen's Retreat! I always enjoy stopping by while I am in Savannah, and even order things I see browsing on their Facebook page. The Brown Dog Market is great for gifts, home decor, and other cool finds. The staff is always helpful and I enjoy the mix of designers they have. The event space is also a great aspect - whether you're hosting a rehearsal dinner, dinner party, or a wedding, Cohen's can handle it all! I would highly recommend Cohen's Retreat!
This place is awesome! There is nothing like it in Savannah! It's a must if you haven't tried it! I've never seen lion on their menu. I had heard that their chef (who has since been let go) tried serving it during Restaurant Week but the owner did not support this. Shame on all of you bandwagon-type people that have given this place a 1 STAR rating because you were told to do so. Most of you have never even visited there. Beautiful venue space for parties or weddings and lovely shops featuring local artists.
It's Restaurant Week in Savannah - we chose Cohen's Retreat. The BEST meal. The service and food were impeccable. Fried green tomatoes, salmon, and steak all receive 5 stars. The Leopold's dark chocolate ice cream and the rice pudding are worth the calories. We will definitely be going back to order from the regular menu.
