About this business

Established in 2012. While the modern day version of Cohen's Retreat began in 2012, the sprawling 5 acre estate is an icon of Savannah's history. Built in 1934, the main building functioned as a nursing home for over 50 years. Renovated by the current owner, Cohen's Retreat has been lovingly restored to become one of the City's most eclectic destination for art, food and community. A must-see hidden gem off the beaten path! Artisan Market, Guest Cottages & Restaurant!

I will NEVER eat here! How can you support farm raising and killing lions for food? What a sad, miserable life these wild animals have! Shame on you all!

Are you actually serving lion meat there? And if so, you should be utterly ashamed of yourselves and your establishment. Pathetic attempt to get some attention.

Although lions are not on the endangered species list, they are moving up rapidly. When this restaurant purchases and serves lion meat, they are supporting an industry (raised for slaughter lions) that is heartbreaking. How many more species does man have to destroy before we realize when the animals are gone, so are we? I don't know if this was done for publicity, does not really matter, they still served the lion meat. I mean I'm sure there are plenty of places you go to where you don't like everything on the menu. Be respectful enough to not trash someone's livelihood over a menu item you don't agree with. No different then farm raising every other animal we eat including fish. Do I care to have lion no but it's not for me to say others wouldn't. Not my business to bully someone with nasty comments just so they ag... read more

Anyplace that serves lion meat doesn't deserve to be in business.

Are you kidding me? Ground Farm Raised Lion, Blended with Slow Smoked One Pig Farm Pork Belly? Lion? You are serving lion. The beautiful wild creatures? Is this a joke? This is awful. Won't ever dine here again until some changes are made.

Menu was great and the prices were good. Great to have a menu this varied on this side of town. Was there yesterday. Need to train wait staff, slow and could not understand how to ring up individual checks.
