Been a member since 2014. Ive heard the horror stories of billing issues and cancellation policy’s and even looking up reviews and bbb complaints it’s a very clear trend of pretty shady business tactics. I’ll spare my prior Negative experiences But this time I’m truly aggravated. Hello! I arrived at LA Fitnes in Clearwater where I was attended by Joseph P**** and we told him that we are foreigners, that we wanted to work out for two months, as we will be returning to our country. That was two weeks before they closed Gym because of Covid. He charged: registration fee, 2 months in advance and he warned at the time that we would not need to pay the annual fee, as we would freeze (we would only use two months). This gym is consistently filthy. Here are a few ongoing issues that have not been resolved in months: 1) General cleanliness - it is not unusual to see blood on the floor in the bathrooms, hand sanitizer. machines are consistently empty or functioning, gym floors are always dirty, machines are never wiped down (not by employees OR patrons) never paper towels, broken handles on the locker doors making it impossible to secure your belongings (yes, I've had clothes stolen from the locker room there - so beware) 2) Billing pract... read more

LA FITNESS has no integrity and extremely poor customer service. Not only do they throw every obstacle to prevent you from cancelling your membership but as many have attested to, they fraudulently charged customers when their gyms closed down due to Covid. I signed up for monthly gym membership and personal training for myself and fiance. As a health professional and understanding early on the implications of the pandemic we decided to cancel membership back in April. Terrible customer service. I have emailed them at their contact email over 2 weeks ago and have not gotten a response. I have also sent them numerous tweets on twitter and still no response yet they are able to post daily on their social media page. In addition to that, I have been calling their corporate line for member services for everyday without fail for 2 weeks as early as 7am PST. I am fully convinced that no one is answering calls on their members services line and that they are intentionally ignoring member complain... read more

This is the worst company. They make it nearly impossible to cancel your account if you don’t want to be a member anymore. Also their gyms are not very clean, I’ve seen bugs in most of the locations I've visited in LA. And their Sauna’s are frequently broken.

I wish I could leave less than one star. I have reached out to them several times. They have longer wait times then the unemployment office. I have explained I do not have the money for the membership. I had my credit card Locked. I tried to go into the Sanford location to simply down grade my membership. I am so tired of doing the run around. Everyone puts off the issues.

Upon reopening this companies procedures are egregious and put together with no senes. I had the police threatened to be called on me for the employee not checking my temperature. I was harassed for the staffs poor work. Disgusting verbally abusive language was used towards me. Companies should be subject to notifying their clients about how and if this information is being used or sold. The gym is fantastic and this review is only regarding the management and sales. When we originally signed up for our membership my wife was about 60 days away from a major surgery. Knowing this, we wanted to get her into a gym routine that allowed her to ease back into the regimen when she recovered. We signed up for a monthly basis but added on 4 personal trainer sessions for her which she agreed to take before surgery.
