Employee said *************, but after signing electronic pad and received a hard copies. I read it once I got home. Surprisingly, following month, I must pay an annual fee. Very sneaky business way.

I was initially tricked to open a multi state account and then the same day I told them since I would be moving to ************* pretty soon and there are no LA Fitness gyms in the city, I would be fine with a single state pass. The manger said it was okay and they would help me switch to a single state account with a lower initiation fee. Instead, they opened two membership accounts under my name and charged me twice. The gym is below average as a gym, but what gives them one star is their customer service and them not letting you cancel over the phone, you have to go in person or send a certified letter. Just ludicrous obviously a tactic to get people to keep paying membership fees when they don't want the membership."

This is incredibly upsetting. I was told by the two male reps ******* & **** that I was signing my 12 year old son ***** up for a one time introductory offer of 8 session at 280.00 since we had just joined the LA fitness that evening. My son was so excited. They completely lied to both of us. They had both of us sign on a small Pad. They had computer screen turned towards them, these two male reps stated, they were having computer issues and the printer was not working but assured me this was legit. First of all this is nothing against any staff that works there they were all super friendly, nice and helpful. My complaint is with the company itself. I needed a gym membership for two months and they had a decreased initiation fee compared to pre-covid. Only reason it was decreased is because of ***** and theyre probably hurting a bit so when its convenient for them theyll offer you a break but now theyre back to **** over the little guy. I personally have nothing but bad experience with LA-Fitness. They make it impossible for you to cancel your subscription--they prefer to put the account on hold for a period and then will automatically re-activate the account. Back in 2018 I successfully canceled my account, and out of no where, while checking my monthly bank charges I see that LA-Fitness has reactivated the account and I am getting a monthly charge for 42.37 which they say it is not coming from them. I signed up for a gym membership at LA fitness ********* in ******** as they promised ********* services. They said the ********* would be open within a week. Three weeks later it was still not open so I cancelled the membership. They charged $200 and will not issue a refund. Beware of unethical sales practices to try to sell memberships!

I was a member of this LA Fitness club in ******, ** for over 2 years or so. They gave me a very hard time for cancelling the membership. I want to cancel my membership as I am moving to a different location in **.1st ******* - I went to the club and requested them in-person for cancellation. I am sick and tired of health clubs [Esporta Fitness] who litter my neighborhood with their rolled up fliers they leave on everyone's lawn. Most people don't pick them up so the paper ends up blowing around. They should be required to come back two days after dropping and pick up their trash. "
