What a short sighted group of leaders. Purposefully destroying their city's resources.
What kind of city has an Airport but wants to close it? An Airport director who is gleefully announcing the shortening of the runway making this community asset less useful? It's bizarre. Santa Monica is my favourite Airport in the USA. Soon when urgent aeromedical flights are required they will have to operate from another airport necessitating a lengthy journey for patients on the clogged up 405. Corrupt city council bought off by special interests and developers. Poor utilization and restriction of it's own public resources causing lost jobs and businesses. City leaders are making $230K+/yr though, so that is OK and they don't care as long as they keep getting paid to make things worse than when they took the job.
Homeless situation is out of control. More and more aggressive bums are populating SM and forcing people to move out of the city.
