Very good burger and nice beer selection and a friendly staff. Bartender is very nice and gave great service, I enjoyed my southern burger as a southerner. Citizen great job on hiring her, excellent face for your company!!!
Great staff and Awesome atmosphere. Tonight I ate at the bar. A nice lady to my left that came up from FLA. She was in town to nurse her premed, model, daughter who has a wicked case of pink eye. To my right, a kind man in town from Germany. All the while a very eclectic mix of people; young, old, local and visitors. On top of that, I had a marvelous burger. This is definitely a nice spot. Great evening!!
Burgers are the bomb! Love the concept. Also the fried pickles and sweet potato fries are worth all the extra ♡ Thanks to our waitress and Randall for giving us a Richmond welcome! Can't wait for you to open in Rva in the spring!!
I've been there a handful of times and I've always had great food and good service. The best burger I've ever had is the "citizen burger".
Rotating taps and bottles are insanely good - crazy stuff at times like Maine Brewing Company Lunch, Firestone Sticky Monkey....

My wife and I went to C'ville for a long weekend retreat. We got into town in the evening, and went down to the Main Street Mall looking for a place to eat. We decided on Citizen Burger Bar, and got sat right away. They were very busy, which was a good sign to us. The waiter came up fairly fast, and was just the friendliest and energetic as if we were the first customers he had. Orders were placed and drinks were delivered. Ignore the few bad reviews out there. My wife and I went to CBB for the first time on Saturday night and sat at the bar. The service, fried pickles, and burgers were great.
Great service, really good food. Sometimes a long wait, but with all there is to see on the downtown mall the time passes quickly.
Came in to C'Ville for a weekend get a way and heard about Citizen Burger from a friend. Went straight there for a late lunch and it was a great start to my weekend! Sat at the bar and was welcomed right away by the bartender who was friendly and helpful. My husband and I both enjoyed our burgers, which were cooked right! Great selection of beers and hard ciders!
