Solid american upscale burger bar! You will not leave hungry! The beer battered onion rings (the chef brought mine out) are on point, along with The Citizen's burger. I was hoping for a runny fried egg and didn't get that and the fries were ok but nonetheless overall great option! Service is real good too! I am from out of town and found this area to be GREAT! Citizen Burger is located in the Charlottesville downtown shopping area and there are shops and restaurants all over the place! GREAT atmosphere!
We were visiting Charlottesville for the day, from 200 miles away, decided to go here for dinner as suggested by a friend. We got there at 730pm and at 845 still dd not have. I noticed people who came in after us eating. Called waitress over, she never put our order in. She offered free appetizers on our NEXT VISIT. No thanks, wont be back this way again. We just left.

Best damn burger around I will drive the 45 mins to eat there alittle pricey but all in all great place.
The food and atmosphere is outstanding. Only beef is it took 25 minutes from placing my order (I was sitting at the bar) to get my burger. I did the Classic American bacon cheeseburger--best burger I've had in a long time!
Food was good. Never received silver ware. Water bottle was at room temp. Waitress never checked on us . Three times had to flag her down for someone's drink refill and ask for silver ware and napkin. Never got it. Two stars was being very generous.
I don't go out to eat very often and when I do I want to enjoy the experience. Citizen's didn't disappoint! The wait staff is wonderful and attentive, the décor is nice and comfortable. The food was A+ in my book. Unfortunately I don't eat much so I only had the Tempura Pickles (they give you six spears and I ate 2) and I just had to try the Truffle Fries, (a bowl large enough for 6 in my opinion) both were excellent! Not greasy, well seasoned and served piping hot. Next time I come I'll give the Burger a try!

We definitely had an insane wait with our party of 11 on Fathers Day. Once seated, the rest of the evening could not have been better! We were well waited on, our food was phenomenal, and the price was more than accommodating. ( try the blue cheese, bacon, onion burger. You won't be disappointed)
