My son just left here yesterday. When we left I asked him if he had fun and he said yes. Normally children don't have fun at a hospital but this isn't a normal hospital. This is an amazing place. Every one of the nurses and staff were so nice to my son. He had so much fun at the lego party and the bear dress up/costume party. Nurse Yvonne was a blessing (from the burn in the burn unit.) Children's hospital of Alabama is one of the greatest hospitals for kids, but I'm not rating children's...im rating the Medicaid office inside of Children's. My son's Medicaid obviously turned inactive one week and a half ago due to us moving and we didn't get our mail from them. I found out Medicaid does not forward mail. My son has SEVERE HEMOPHILIA A & ADHD & ASPERGERS. They did not want to help me get it back active. They said I have to wait up to 45 days. Is there anyone that knows how to get this back active? Treated my daughter and her baby very good! Very kind, courteous, and professional.
We had a very smooth experience at Children's from beginning to end! Our son had outpatient surgery here and everyone he came in contact with was caring, compassionate, and professional. We are so lucky to have a place like Children's so close by so that our kids can receive exceptional care.
