After having my twins in January, one developed necrotizing enterocolitis (gas pockets in the bowel that can quickly turn deadly). Being from Salina, I was terrified when they said they were going to send her hours away to Children's Mercy. She spent 3 weeks of her early life there, and the nurses were great about updating us no matter how many times a day we called! We ended up losing her several months later, to unrelated issues. If it wasn't for Dr hornig an his awesome team my son wouldn't be here today! They have an amazing team there. In all departments.
Everyone was wonderful and helpful! It is comforting for you and your child to be in such a caring place.
The hospital is beautiful and easy to get around in. (It's color coded) lol. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
