BEWARE before opening an account at Schwab, because they will not give you your money back. I am a month into the process of fighting to get my funds distributed back to me. They will do whatever it takes to not give you back your money.
Their customer service is horrible and trying to pull out money is a disaster. Every time I talk to them it's an hour plus on the phone, with no results. I have been with them since 2007, this is 2022 and I am leaving them because they are a horrible financial institution. I recommend you go anywhere else
My experience always has been that this is an exceptionally well run organization. I've found the customer service provided to be consistently both readably available and very responsive. Trades and transactions always run smoothly. They have my highest recommendation.
My father is in his late 80's struggling with dementia and parkinsons. When he tried to access his online account he could not remember his login name. When he called to get his login name (he had his password) he failed to correctly answer some of the security questions and they locked his account saying that he would have to go to a brach office (closest is 30 mins away and he cannot travel) or have someone fill out a power of attorney to access account on his behalf, also requiring travel to get notorazied, etc. After spe... read more
Schwab has become an absolute horrid company, with no regard for its customers. I've been with CS for 30+ years, and I have great credit history and integrity, yet CS has now decided to change their policies and treat me as if I was a criminal with no integrity, no consideration and as if I am a person of NO financial responsibility. 1/22/2022 I won't give a single star to this bank who from 2018 keep making non stop errors. I generally call the bank to ask simple basic questions and all the time I received wrong information. If I call a second and a third time, I will get a different answer for the same issue. The worst financial institution ever. Several months ago they denied me access to one of my accounts with them and each time i called them to access my money they kept claiming it has been resolved. Now, a new year, and after countless phone calls, my money is still being kept hostage by Charles Schwab bank.
Charles Schwab only cares about Charles Schwab (its owner) and not their millions of clients. They ALWAYS delay paying dividends due to their clients, by several hours up to a full day. I believe they do this on purpose in order to earn the extra day's interest from the $100s of millions in clients' dividends due. They also give bad executions in order to pocket extra pennies per trade. By executing 100s of millions of trades daily this amounts to $ millions of dollars which Schwab is STEALING from their millions of clients ... read more
