After 4 failed attempts on 2 different chargers and 2 calls to the help line, gave up . Tried web pay via qr code , and received a message "charger doesn't exist " after they've taken your money. Spoke to a nice bloke who asked me to download the app and he restarted the charger remotely. Downloaded the app, tried again , more money taken on pre auth, got a message "error in socket" walked away. crap

Machine does not take American Express despite explicitly displaying Amex. Took over 5 minutes to reset itself so went to another station to try another card Note: ensure you have the car ready at the station on payment (likely a rookie error because it was my first time charging an EV) - as it’ll reset and “cancel” your deposit charge - however after another 5 minutes the machine showed “payment transaction cancel failed” so now have 2 charges. Appalling. The first time I tried to use the charger as a guest, Swarco (the operator) took a £15 deposit despite the session failing. They haven’t refunded me and haven’t responded to my emails. There are plenty of other charger providers that don’t take a non-refundable deposit. Swarco customer service is non-existent
